Reddit is going crazy over this, tons of people can't accept it's real, it has to be a work because WWE confirmed it.

it's funny, when something is rumored, it has to be real; but when WWE confirms it, they have to be working us!

But that's because that's what WWE's usual M.O. is in these situations, and confirming it makes no sense for them, as all it does is lose them a valuable star for the remaining three months of his contract. Why confirm it and make all of his matches feel like lame duck situations when you could use him for one last feud or two to try to get someone new (like, say, EC III) over to a level to be able to replace Dean on the card?

Which is still a waste because by not commenting or denying it you could have at least kept people guessing while having him put someone over in one final program.
