NJPW Road to Power Struggle 2014: Day 1 (10/25/2014)- Tokyo, Japan

SUZUKI-GUN (Takashi Iizuka, Minoru Suzuki, & TAKA Michinoku) vs, CHAOS (Toru Yano, YOSHI-HASHI, & Gedo)- 0.25/10
The same sh*tty brawl we always get. The only thing that saved it from being a dud were the parts where Suzuki was wrestling Gedo or YOSHI-HASHI.

TETSUYA NAITO, KOTA IBUSHI, TOGI MAKABE, TOMOAKI HONMA, & CAPTAIN NEW JAPAN vs. THE BULLET CLUB (Bad Luck Fale, Tama Tonga, Yujiro Takahashi, Doc Gallows, & Karl â€"Machine Gun” Anderson)- 6/10

SUPER JR. TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FIRST-ROUND MATCH: Mascara Dorada & BUSHI vs. reDRagon- 5.75/10
They brawled all over the arena… which didn’t make sense because they should have been counted out. Other than that, everything was good. Also, Kyle’s spaghetti legs were awesome.

SUPER JR. TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FIRST-ROUND MATCH: Ryusuke Taguchi & Fuego vs. Suzuki-Gun (El Desperado & Taichi) (w/TAKA Michinoku)- 7.25/10
Those damn heels! I hate them so much! Great heel stuff here, and great selling from Taguchi. Taichi gets the pin on Taguchi, then poses with the title like a giant douchebag.

SUPER JR. TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FIRST-ROUND MATCH: The Young Bucks vs. Jushin â€"Thunder” Liger & Tiger Mask IV- 7/10

SUPER JR. TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT FIRST-ROUND MATCH: Time Splitters vs. Forever Hooligans- 7.25/10

HIROSHI TANAHASHI, HIROOKI GOTO, & KATSUYORI SHIBATA vs. CHAOS (Shinsuke Nakamura, Tomohiro Ishii, & Kazuchika Okada) (w/Gedo)- 7.75/10
Nakamura and Shibata started off and they were great. Shibata mocked some of Nakamura’s standard antics. Nakamura was NOT amused. Then Okada and Tanahashi tagged in and did some stuff and they were awesome. Then Ishii and Goto tagged in, and it became an Ishii match, with random, pointless no-selling. Then Ishii tagged it and it got great again.
There was a lot of action in this match, but not much story. They did a very good job of making the match exciting and focusing on the two big match-ups (Okada vs. Tanahashi and Nakamura vs. Shibata) without giving away the main event of either this PPV or Wrestle Kingdom 9.

A very good show from New Japan. Power Struggle should be a very interesting show.
