ROH Honor Nation (10/5/2007)- Boston, MA

DELIRIOUS PROMO- I think he said the Hangmen 3 were going to die, but I couldn’t quite tell because... well… it’s a Delirious promo.

THE RESILIENCE (Matt Cross & Erick Stevens) vs. THE HANGMEN 3 (Adam Pearce & Brent Albright) (w/BJ Whitmer & Shane Hagadorn)- 6/10
Good babyfaces vs. heels stuff.

BJ WHITMER PROMO- his short, crappy, horrible blond dye-job earns him â€"STEVE CORINO!” chants. He calls out Delirious so the Hangmen can â€"finish the job” after they… um… (don’t read this if you’re squeamish)… stapled his mask to his face a month and a half ago.

DELIRIOUS vs. BJ WHITMER (w/the Hangmen 3)- 5.75/10

BRYAN DANIELSON PROMO- not so good. Lots of â€"um”s and fumbling for words.

JIMMY JACOBS PROMO- Expository.
Jimmy tells us that the Age of the Fall is about more than pro wrestling! It’s about changing society as a whole. He then explains that they targeted the Briscoes because the Briscoes have the tag belts and the tag belts give them the power to spread their message (via the ability to demand promo time). He says that they have an army planted throughout the building. Jay Briscoe came out and attacked them, and we followed the brawl into the lobby. They then brawled down a hallway, but we cut back to the ring instead.

TRIPLE THREAT MATCH: Nigel McGuinness vs. Hallowicked vs. El Generico- 6.25/10
No real story other than â€"guys hitting each other with moves to try to win the match,” and the execution on some of the stuff could have been better.

KEVIN STEEN PROMO- great!

CHRIS HERO (w/Sweet N’ Sour Inc.) vs. CLAUDIO CASTAGNOLI (w/Daizee Haze)- 6/10
I know absolutely nothing about fashion, but even I can tell you that Sara’s gear was a crime against it. It was like she decided to wear skin prints of as many savannah animals as possible, then decided to tie-dye some of them just because… and for some reason, this was all worn over some horrible maroon understuffs.
In response to a â€"F*CK YOU, HERO!” chant, Chris Hero had Bobby Cruise inform the fans that they were not to say the F word during his match because he does not appreciate it at all. This got exactly the reaction you would expect.
There was WAY too much gaga in this match. As it ends, we are told that something is going on by the front entrance... and it turns out it is Necro Butcher brawling with Jay Briscoe. So in over half an hour, not only were the combination of Jacobs and Black not enough to take Jay down… but after Jay beat them up, he had enough left in him to hold his own against Necro Butcher, too? I guess Jacobs was lying about â€"army” he claimed to have in the building… or did Jay beat them all up, too? This makes the hot new heel stable look like crap!
So they brawl out to the ring and we get…

ANYTHING GOES MATCH: Jay Briscoe vs. The Necro Butcher (w/the Age of the Fall)- 5.5/10
They brawl a lot and use a chair. Jay fights off Necro. Then, when Jacobs tries to interfere, Jay fights him off, too. Mark Briscoe comes out on crutches to give Jay one to use as a weapon. Tyler Black attacks Mark from behind with a chair while Necro finally puts Jay down in the ring. The Age of the Fall then kidnap Mark, carrying him off backstage.

BECKY BAYLESS GETS INTERRUPTED A LOT DURING INTERMISSION-
First Larry Sweeney complains that Hero had Claudio beat on a close call during the match but the ref screwed up. Then Jay Briscoe (not selling anything at all despite the fact that he has been fighting for about an hour straight at this point) asks Becky if she has seen Mark. These two interruptions have made Becky decide that she won’t be able to say whatever it was that she was supposed to say without getting interrupted, so she just gives up and says the equivalent of â€"now back to the action.” If her work ethic was anywhere near the size of her prominently displayed breasts, she would be a fantastic backstage reporter.

MITCH FRANKLIN & ERNIE OSIRIS vs. TYLER BLACK & JIMMY JACOBS- squash

FIRST MATCH IN THEIR BEST OF THREE SERIES FOR AN ROH WORLD TITLE SHOT: Bryan Danielson vs. Austin Aries- 9/10
Just an absolutely fantastic wrestling match.

AUSTIN ARIES PROMO- decent

TAG TEAM SCRAMBLE: No Remorse Corps vs. Vulture Squad- 7.25/10
Great action.

VULTURE SQUAD PROMO- Jack and Jigsaw were okay, Ruckus was awesome.

ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH: Takeshi Morishima(c) vs. Kevin Steen- 7/10
Steen jumps Morishima, then after a brief shine, Steen starts to work over Morishima’s knee, even using a chair on it. Morishima then made a comeback, and during the entire comeback, he completely stopped selling his knee. Then Steen cut him off by going back to it and Morishima started selling his knee again. Steen did a dragon screw, but Morishima tripped and landed right on top of him. That looked like it sucked. When Morishima went on offense again, he again just stopped selling his knee.

Generico helps Steen up after the match, but Steen shoves him away and walks to the back shouting, among other things â€"I don’t need you!” and â€"leave me alone!”

A great show from ROH, with good wrestling all up and down the card, but it was really propped up by Aries vs. Danielson.
