ROH A New Dawn (9/28/2013)- Hopkins, MN
ADAM COLE PROMO- Cole gives the motivation for his heel turn as simply being that he grew up from being a boy and became a man by realizing that you need to whatever it takes to win. He then tells us that it doesn’t matter who wins the Honor Rumble tonight because he will retain the belt tonight. He says that Elgin is a whiner and that Jay Briscoe is a little bitch. Jay comes out and Cole runs away from him. Jay then says that once the doctors clear him to wrestle, he will kick Cole’s ass and take the title from him.
MONSTER MAFIA (Ethan Page & Josh Alexander) vs. reDRagon- 6.5/10
I didn’t see anything particularly impressive out of Monster Mafia, but I wouldn’t object to having them back, especially because I think it would help spruce up the tag team division a bit (I mean come on! The only difference between C & C Wrestle Factory and Adrenaline Rush is that C & C are one young guy and one veteran while Adrenaline Rush are both young guys. Other than that they are teams of black guys who do tons of spots, with one charismatic member and one not-so-charismatic member). A team of guys who wrestle a more power-based style would be great in a division full of past-paced, kick-heavy spotty teams (the aforementioned teams, as well as the Young Bucks, the American Wolves and reDRagon all fit this description).
MARK BRISCOE vs. SILAS YOUNG- 5/10
Mark wins via roll-up, but gets jumped by Silas after the match.
ADRENALINE RUSH vs. JAY LETHAL & MICHAEL ELGIN- 6/10
I was expecting a lot more from this. Hopefully Elgin & Lethal don’t become a regular tag team after they got their title shot at Charm City Challenge.
HONOR RUMBLE FOR AN ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH- 4.25/10
Mark Briscoe eliminated Silas Young, so Silas tripped Mark up, pulled him to the outside, then threw him into the barricade. Mark was forgotten on the outside for a while, but eventually came back to get the win. Other than that there wasn’t much interesting going on here. Just a dull battle royale.
EDDIE EDWARDS vs. MICHAEL BENNETT (w/Maria Kanellis)- 6/10
JIMMY JACOBS TRIAL SERIES MATCH #2: Jimmy Jacobs vs. Kevin Steen- 5.25/10
A very short match, but very intense. They went all out in this one.
POST-MATCH SEGMENT- got good heat on Bennett and Maria.
ROH TV TITLE MATCH: Matt Taven(c) (w/the Hoopla Hotties) vs. Davey Richards vs. Roderick Strong- 7/10
ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH: Adam Cole(c) vs. Mark Briscoe-6.5/10
A disappointing first title defense from Cole. Jay comes out after the match to confront Cole, and while they are staring each other down, Elgin comes up behind Cole. Elgin goes to hit the Elgin Bomb but Cole manages to escape to the outside… where he is attacked by Jay, and they brawl into the crowd. Elgin picks up the ROH World Title and says that the sight of him holding the title will soon become very familiar.
A very disappointing show from ROH. Don’t buy it.

1. When Adam Cole said it would be shameful to have to defend the ROH World Title against Delirious, Kevin Kelly replied â€"why? Delirious is one of the all-time greats.†Nothing kills credibility with the fans like calling a midcarder â€"one of the all-time greats.â€
