TNA One Night Only: X-Travaganza (1/15/2013)- Orlando, FL

X-SCAPE MATCH: Sam Shaw vs. Alex Silva vs. Christian York vs. Lince Dorado vs. Puma vs. Jimmy Rave vs. Matt Bentley- 5.5/10
Extremely disappointing match. This was the opener on an all-X-Division show! Where are the flips, fast-paced sequences and hard strikes that the X-Division is known for?
Shaw and Silva didn’t seem like they belonged in the X-Division at all, and Rave has always worked best as a submission guy. The only person in the match who was impressive in any way was Lince, and he was eliminated very early on. The winner of the match was never really in doubt, either, as only one of these guys has been on TNA TV regularly in the past four years, and of the guys in this match currently under contract to TNA, only one has ever been on TV more than twice!

TONY NESE & RASHAD CAMERON PROMOS- both were okay

RASHAD CAMERON & ANTHONY NESE vs. DOUGLAS WILLIAMS & KID KASH-7.25/10
Great match! How the hell did TNA not sign Nese and Cameron after this and how the hell did they not give Williams and Kash more TV time after this?

SAMOA JOE PROMO- good

PRE-MATCH SEGMENT- atrocious
Robbie gets in the ring and says that he, of all people, invented the X-Division and claims to be the greatest X-Division Champion of all-time… and the crowd barely reacts! TNA has left he Impact Zone, and not a moment too soon. Hell, probably about a year too late.
Then Chavo comes out and says that the X-Division was based off Lucha Libre and reminds everyone that his grandfather was a pioneer of Lucha Libre, thus, his family invented the X-Division. You know what, Chavo? Why don’t you just get a big f*cking tattoo across your forehead that reads â€"I AM A GUERRERO” so that you could save us all the time and pain of listening to your crappy, repetitive promos?
Chavo then tells us that, for some unknown reason, Joseph Park is the special guest referee for this match.
SINGLES MATCH WITH JOSEPH PARK AS THE SEPCIAL GUEST REFEREE: Robbie E. vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.- 1.5/10
Waste of time. They call this X-Division? I’ve seen more past-paced action in Divas matches.

KENNY KING PROMO- AWESOME!

ULTIMATE X MATCH: Kenny King vs. Zema Ion vs. Rubix vs. Mason Andrews- 6.5/10
Taz’s refusal to pronounce Rubix’s name correctly was extremely annoying. The finish was interesting, but is the sort of thing I think should be saved for a time when there is a storyline reason for it.

BAD INFLUENCE PROMO- FREAKIN’ AWESOME!

SONJAY DUTT & PETEY WILLIAMS PROMOS- great

BAD INFLUENCE vs. SONJAY DUTT & PETEY WILLIAMS- 7.5/10
Great stuff. After the match Bad Influence try to beat Sonjay down but he ducks and Kaz accidentally hits Daniels, then Petey makes the crowd happy by hitting Kaz with a Canadian Destroyer.

LAST TIME EVER NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH: Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn- 8.25/10
Why the hell did TNA not promote this match through the roof? Hell, they should have done this live at Genesis! This is the final match of one of the most storied rivalries in wrestling. It’s final match deserves a lot more than an unannounced match at a show taped three months before it aired!
The good news is that this time, when TNA says â€"last time ever” I’m pretty sure that they mean it, even though this is the second or third â€"last time ever” match these two have had in TNA (and I could talk about the number of â€"last time ever” matches AJ & Daniels have had, but that would require remembering where I buried that horse). The even better news is that this was an awesome match and a much more fitting final match for these two than their match at Bound For Glory 2011.

AUSTIN ARIES vs. SAMOA JOE- 7.75/10

Overall, a great show from TNA. I was very disappointed at the lack of AJ Styles, though. Hopefully he is in an angle that allows him to wrestle by the time the TNA Ten reunion Pay-Per-View is supposed to air.

STUPID ANNOUNCER QUOTES:
1. Tenay says that it is okay for Chavo to brag about being a Guerrero because it is a â€"resume.” He then goes on to defend Chavo for coming out and talking about how great his family is in response to Robbie E. coming out and bragging about his own accomplishments.
Sorry, Mike, but you are so wrong that it isn’t funny. A â€"resume” would be someone listing their own accomplishments, like, say, if they have been the X-Division Champion before. All Chavo is doing is saying â€"my daddy, uncles, and grandpa were great, therefore everyone should like me based on their accomplishments.”

2. Chavo and Tenay both justified Joseph Park’s presence as a referee by saying that Abyss (Park’s brother) was once the X-Division Champion. I fail to see how this in anyway qualifies Park to do the highly-skilled job of being a referee for an X-Division match. That would be like saying that I am qualified to be a surgeon because my brother once had an appendectomy.

I guess Taz randomly decided to not be an asshole tonight like he normally is and just called the match straight.
Highlights are WAY too long.
