THE ALL NIGHT EXPRESS vs. CHRIS SILVIO & MOHAMMAD ALI VAEZ- 4/10
Standard tag team match, but no one thought that Silvio & Vaez had a snowball’s chance of winning.
After the match, ANX cut a promo saying that they have beaten all of the tag teams in ROH and are still owed a title shot from a Proving Ground match last fall. They want a shot at the tag team titles
VEDA SCOTT INTERVIEWS TRUTH MARTINI & MICHAEL ELGIN- very good
SAMSON WALKER PROMO- eh
SAMPSON WALKER vs. MICHAEL ELGIN (w/Truth Martini)- 5/10
BJ WHITMER vs. KEVIN STEEN (w/Jimmy Jacobs)- 5.75/10
I thought the finish was a bit over booked. Steen didn’t need both the distraction and the low blow, especially because he has a title shot coming up on the very next show.
EL GENERICO vs. KYLE O’REILLY- 6.5/10
They called this a no-contest, but because of the way that they did it, it really should have been a DQ. I liked having O’Reilly make the save for Generico, as that solidifies that O’Reilly isn’t really a heel. He is just a babyface who doesn’t respect two specific other babyfaces.
AFTERMATH- okay build to Seen vs. Davey at Border Wars.
VEDA SCOTT INTERVIEWS MIKE MONDO- good. I love Veda’s facial expressions and reactions to everyone’s promos. Hilarious and good at selling the angle.
TJ PERKINS vs. MIKE MONDO- 6/10
TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS MATCH: Jay Lethal vs. Roderick Strong (w/Truth Martini)- 7/10
Great wrestling, but I really didn’t like the booking here. If it won’t lead to a rematch, then there is no reason for the champ to lose.
ROH WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Briscoe Brothers(c) vs. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin)- 6.75/10
Rhett & Kenny’s interference and the post-match segment was a good way to get ANX involved in this feud.
ADAM COLE PROMO- good
ROH WORLD TITLE MATCH: Davey Richards(c) vs. Adam Cole- 8.5/10
AWESOME main event. After the match, Davey put Cole over HUGE on the mic.
Overall, a very good show from ROH, but mostly on the strength of the main event. Mostly a skippable show, but a must-buy for Adam Cole fans, though.
