COLT CABANA, GRIZZLY REDWOOD, & THE NECRO BUTCHER vs. THE EMBASSY (Claudio Castagnoli, Jimmy Rave, & “Dirty” Ernie Osiris) (w/Prince Nana)- 6.25/10
Good comedy match that finished off with some wrestling.
SHAWN SPEARS vs. “SUGAR FOOT” ALEX PAYNE- 4.5/10
I confused. A Sugarfoot match went more than five minutes.
RIC FLAIR APPEARANCE- standard stomp speech from Flair putting over the company, the locker room, the fans, and his experiences in the city. Then Flair comments that the ROH locker room is a sausage fest.
BRYAN DANIELSON vs. KENNY KING (w/Rhett Titus)- 6.25/10
KEVIN STEEN & EL GENERICO vs. THE YOUNG BUCKS- 7.25/10
A great debut for the Young Bucks, with great action and some fun moments.
SUGARFOOT PROMO- decent
NIGEL MCGUINNESS PROMO- good
AUSTIN ARIES PROMO- set up the storyline for the next match and transitioned into…
FOUR CORNER SURVIVAL MATCH: Austin Aries vs. Roderick Strong vs. D’Lo Brown vs. Eddie Edwards (w/Shane Hagadorn)- 6.75/10
Good match. Decent storytelling.
JIMMY JACOBS vs. SONJAY DUTT- 6.25/10
JAY BRISCOE vs. DAVEY RICHARDS (w/Shane Hagadorn)- 7.25/10
The aftermath was eh.
TYLER BLACK vs. JERRY LYNN- 7/10
Bonus Match:
DAIZEE HAZE vs. LUFISTO (4/17/2009)- 4/10
Overall, this wasn’t a very good show. It was the very definition of a “B” show. It felt like it was all just matches, with no real storyline or title ramifications whatsoever. They did do a great job of playing to the crowd and involving the crowd throughout the show but this show is still completely skippable. The only thing that makes this show in any way notable is the fact that it is the Young Bucks ROH debut. Definitely a must-buy for Sugarfoot fans (if there are any) as not only does he get more than five minutes in the ring, but he even gets to cut a promo! If you are not a Sugarfoot fan or a completionist, you should skip this show.
