PWG Battle of Los Angeles 2015: Final Stage (8/30/2015)- Reseda, CA

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SECOND-ROUND MATCH: Jack Evans vs. Brian Cage- 4/10
Jack cut another long, annoying heel promo before this match. They based the story around the size differential between the two men, and they did a good job of telling the story they wanted to tell in the short time they told it in. Then they went and ruined it all when Brian Cage, who is supposed to be the babyface, assault Jack after the match.

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SECOND-ROUND MATCH: Chris Hero vs. Biff Busick- 6.5/10
Standard 2015 Chris Hero match with your standard Chris Hero perfect finish.

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SECOND-ROUND MATCH: Marty Scurll vs. Trevor Lee- 6.75/10

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SECOND-ROUND MATCH: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Pentagon Jr.- 4.75/10
The story of the first part of this match was that they would lock each other in exotic submission holds… and then just let each other out because I guess they don’t care about winning the match. They also did spot where Pentagon Jr. tripped the referee just so he could jump off of his back to hit a dropkick to Sabre Jr., who was seated in the corner. It would have been a lot easier to just RUN AND DO THE DROPKICK, which DOESN’T RISK A DISQUALIFICATION (which never came because all logic disappeared in this match).

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SECOND-ROUND MATCH: â€"Speedball” Mike Bailey vs. Tommy End- 7/10

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SECOND-ROUND MATCH: William Ospreay vs. Matt Sydal- 7/10
Sydal steps on Ospreay’s nuts. This was not a DQ. Other than that, a great match.

RODERICK STRONG PROMO- he wants to know who has the balls to come out and face Mount Rushmore 2.0. This challenge results in…

MOUNT RUSHMORE 2.0 vs. FENIX, ANGELICO, RICH SWANN, & RICOCHET- 7.75/10
Some of the tandem stuff they did on the outside was way too cutesy and choreographed. Same goes for the spot where all of the babyfaces missed top rope moves. Other than those, it was your stand action-packed PWG big tag team match. Super Dragon disappeared towards the end, meaning that this comeback might be over even quicker than his previous comeback.

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SEMI-FINAL MATCH: Jack Evans vs. Chris Hero- 5.25/10
Jack has come out with his ribs, head, and shoulder all taped up. Jack cut another long promo before this match, but this one was actually good. As for the match itself, they took their idea and they ran with it.

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SEMI-FINAL MATCH: William Ospreay vs. â€"Speedball” Mike Bailey- 5.75/10
Eleven minutes of moves.

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES SEMI-FINAL MATCH: Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Marty Scurll- 7.25/10
A match that would have been MUCH better if they had cut out of the seven or eight minutes of stalling and dumb comedy in the middle.

DREW GALLOWAY, DREW GULAK, AERO STAR, CHUCK TAYLOR, & TRENT? vs. ANDREW EVERETT, TIMOTHY THATCHER, TOMMASO CIAMPA, MARK ANDREWS, & DRAGO- DUD!
Pointless spots and dull comedy. Also, they did a bunch of low blows right in front of the referee, at which pint I snapped and just gave it a DUD! F*ck this match. This show has already been WAY too long, and now they’re wasting my time with this dumb, pointless sh*t. I’d also bet a large chunk of money that the initial idea to do low blows came from Ciampa, because he’s a f*cking idiot. I will be so happy when he signs with WWE because they won’t let him do f*cking idiot spots that are completely illegal right in front of the referee like he does in EVERY MATCH!

BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES FINALS- 7.5/10
And we start off the finals of this super-important tournament with… comedy. I don’t give sh*t if a female fan offered to let Hero sit in her lap. He’s a f*cking veteran and he is the guy with the no-nonsense gimmick. He should have ignored her. The fans should have been paying attention to what was happening in the ring instead of what Hero was doing, and Sabre Jr. and Bailey shouldn’t have done more stupid comedy in a f*cking tournament finals.
Now here’s some good wrestling… and then they’re back to the f*cking comedy by rolling up the referee. STOP IT WITH THE G-D DAMN COMEDY IN EVERY F*CKING MATCH!
And now they’re doing that stupid â€"sit down and take turns letting the other guy kick you” spot. IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE A COMPETITIVE MATCH FOR A PRESTIGIOUS PRIZE! YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BE TRYING TO WIN!
This was another match that would have been SOOOOO MUCH BETTER if they had just cut out the five or six minutes of comedy and dumb sh*t towards the beginning.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- Roddy comes out and vows to beat the winner’s ass whenever he receives his title shot, then the winner cuts his promo and we close out the show with a nice babyface celebration.

A very disappointing show from PWG. It went WAY too long, and way too much of that time was spent on comedy and dumb sh*t that took away from a theoretically important tournament.
