WWE TLC 2012 (12/16/2012)- Brooklyn, NY

THE MIZ TV WITH 3MB- IT’S A MOTHERF*CKING PPV… AND THEY DECIDE TO SPEND TIME ON THE MIZ INTERVIEWING A STABLE OF COMEDY JOBBERS? As if this couldn’t get any worse, they go the racist route for some cheap heat, leading to the best natural heel in the company turning babyface. This was done to set up the following unadvertised match for later tonight: 3MB vs. Del Rio, Miz, & and a mystery partner. The problem with this is that we just saw Miz and Del Rio take 3MB out on their own! Why should we think 3MB have a snowball’s chance in hell if you give Miz & Del Rio a third guy?

TEAM HELL NO BACKSTAGE- pointless.

WADE BARRETT PROMO- good

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Kofi Kingston(c) vs. Wade Barrett- 6.5/10

CM PUNK & PAUL HEYMAN PROMO- good at first, but it just droned on and on. It is the same stuff Punk always says. I also hated Punk claiming to have beaten Ryback singlehandedly. Being delusional kills the integrity that is important to Punk’s character. I love Punk’s shirt, too. Knees 2 Faces!

TLC MATCH IN WHICH YOU MUST WIN VIA PINFALL OR SUBMISSION: The Shield vs. Ryback & Team Hell No- 9.5/10
If someone asks you to show them what the Shield is all about, THIS is the match you show them. They told a great story with the Shield managing to isolate guys and have a 3-on-1 advantage throughout most of the match, and the weapon use was exactly what you would expect from a TLC match: in other words COMPLETE AND TOTAL CARNAGE! Just beats out Brock vs. Triple H for WWE’s Match of the Year.

WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: Eve Torres(c) vs. Naomi- 3/10
Naomi took nowhere near enough damage before being put away. I don’t think she took more than five moves because she spent most of the match on offense, and looked great. It makes you wonder why WWE hasn’t let her wrestle more.

CHAIRS MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: The Big Show(c) vs. Sheamus- 6.5/10
An extra-large chair? Really? That is just so corny. The match was very good, but not what a World Heavyweight Title match should be. Another thing that really bugged me was that their pins were horrible. They almost never put any weight on the other guy’s shoulders.

CENA & AJ BACKSTAGE- eh

3MB vs. THE MIZ, THE BROOKLYN BRAWLER, & ALBERTO DEL RIO (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- 2.25/10
Remember what I said earlier about 3MB not having a chance in this match because Del Rio and Miz alone kicked their butts? Well… having Miz and Del Rio team with a jobber is a good way to even the odds.

LADDER MATCH FOR THE MONEY IN THE BANK BRIEFCASE: Dolph Ziggler(c) vs. John Cena- 7.5/10
Great match marred by a completely random, out of the blue screwjob finish. If you are going to put Dolph over, put him over clean! I just don’t give a damn about AJ anymore. The quicker she is off TV, the better.

Overall, a good show from WWE, but mostly on the strength of the TLC match and the main event. It had some good stuff on it, but it also had a lot of crap that had no place on a PPV.
