BRM Reviews the 6/25/2012 Raw (HORRIBLE!)

AJ TALKING TO HER MIRROR- decent
TRIPLE THREAT ELIMINATION MATCH: Daniel Bryan vs. Kane vs. CM Punk- 7/10
Great match which sets up Dragon vs. Punk for MITB, but I'm getting slightly bored with the AJ finish
ZIGGLER, DEL RIO, & VICKIE SEGMENT- eh.
BIG SHOW vs. BRODUS CLAY (w/The Funkadactyls)- 4/10
Good storytelling and I like the finish, but the match was just too short for a higher rating.
AJ & KANE SEGMENT- horrible. They spent the entire winter and the beginning of the spring establishing that Kane is a monster again... and now they are throwing it all away with this AJ crap. You can't just say "I'm a monster." You have to actually do monstrous things!
WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Santino Marella(c) vs. Jack Swagger- 2/10
CENA & RYDER BACKSTAGE- I know this wasn't an actual segment, but that box was labelled "free to a good home." Which, in terms of clothing, usually means charity. So two of your top babyfaces just threw out a shirt that otherwise would have gone to a poor person.
JOHN CENA & CHRIS JERICHO SEGMENT- DUD! Cena's Star Wars promo was bad. Once Jericho came out it got better, but I cringed every time Cena referred to it as the Money in The Bank "suitcase." Jericho's promo wasn't too good, either, though. "I should win because I've been in the most of these. You can't win because you've never been in one before." This is like the sort of logic that usually propels TNA storylines. Then Vickie comes out and says that, according to the board, only former WWE Champions will be allowed in the WWE Title MITB match, then vickie says that the only four people in it will be Cena, Jericho, Big Show, & Kane. This does not look promising.
SYCHO SID vs. HEATH SLATER- I popped for Sid.
WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE CONTRACT ON A POLE MATCH WHERE THE WINNER WILL GET A TITLE SHOT ON SMACKDOWN: Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio (w/Ricardo Rodriguez)- No rating. Okay segment. You've got to give them credit. I don't think I have ever seen a "retrieve the object to win" style match that did what they did.
PUNK & AJ SEGMENT- good
DIVAS BATTLE ROYALE- -2/10 (yes, a NEGATIVE 2)
GRRR. I absolutely hate whenever they dress-up the ringside area for something like this. I also have to criticize the little dance number Beth was doing when they first came back to air. Between that and the stupid little hat... these are the sort of things that make someone not look tough. Beth's character should never not look tough.
once we get past that, you just have to watch this match. Every single move just looked weak. A whole bunch of the women looked like they fell out on purpose, rather than getting pushed out (especially Beth and Nattie). How bad was this match? So bad that I gave it a negative score... and this a match that was won by AJ!
CHRIS JERICHO vs. JOHN CENA- 5/10
Not acceptable for a main event. I liked the finish, but not in the main event spot. I think it would have been better to make the elimination match the main event and do the segments with AJ next week (this way she can also have one with Dragon about her YESing after the match)
Overall, a HORRIBLE episode of Raw, saved from being even worse by the opening match.
