When Daniel Bryan and CM Punk fought to a clouded finish in WWE’s Over the Limit Pay-Per-View this Sunday, the company made it clear that this feud isn’t going away anytime soon.

With three months until SummerSlam, this appears to be the feud WWE has chosen to go into the second-biggest PPV as a co-main event. If that’s true, this feud will need to keep the fans interested for a long stretch.

With the build to No Way Out being about how Bryan doesn’t deserve the title shot, Bryan could ultimately steal the win via a dirty pin. That finish would be enough to keep the ball rolling into Money in the Bank.

CM Punk has to be chasing the belt for the fans to continue to care about him, so putting the strap on Daniel Bryan not only gives him a boost, it keeps Punk fresh. The key for this whole plan to work correctly will be Money in the Bank.

The WWE can’t have Punk win it back yet and lose the fantastic moment where he wins the title back at SummerSlam, but they can’t have Bryan win two PPVs in a row via something dirty.

That’s where AJ comes in.

After weeks of teasing Daniel Bryan’s girlfriend into the storyline, the WWE is finally doing the right thing by building a long-term storyline for this duo and AJ.

There was never a question about whether these two guys could wrestle; the questions from the WWE were about if they could get people to care. They now understand that they can and they are.

Adding the AJ wrinkle to a long battle is the equivalent of adding Miss Elizabeth to Hulk Hogan and Macho Man.

Yes, I just went there.

The booking logic is correct, but the Hogan-Macho-Elizabeth analogy is way off.
