Tonight marks another gimmick PPV that WWE should get rid of. Not the PPV altogether just the name. The featured match on the card sees CM Punk defending his WWE Championship in a Tables Ladders & Chairs match against Alberto Del Rio & The Miz. Other matches include Mark Henry defending his World Heavyweight Championship in a Chairs match against the Big Show & Randy Orton facing Wade Barrett in a Tables Match. Notable people not on the card tonight are John Cena & Sheamus.

Results:

Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Booker T for the Intercontinental Championship.

Dolph Ziggler w/Vickie Guerrero (c) vs. Zack Ryder for the United States Championship.

Triple H vs. Kevin Nash in a Sledgehammer Ladders Match.
-Sledgehammer will be hanging above of the ring. Winner will be decided by pinfall or submission.

Mark Henry (c) vs. Big Show for the World Heavyweight Championship in a Chairs Match.

Randy Orton vs. Wade Barrett in a Tables Match.

CM Punk (c) vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. The Miz in a Triple Threat Tables Ladders & Chairs match for the WWE Championship.

lets not shit all over this because its a gimmick ppv. the card looks decent, weve had plenty of build to most of these matches, and theres only one of each gimmick match. plus, its more than obvious we'll see a kane run in

The card lacks more then 1 or 2 good matches if that. The build towards the matches isn't bad it's the fact that more then one of these matches has a stupid stipulation to it. The fact there is a freaking CHAIRS match for a WORLD TITLE is ridiculous and im don't speak for anyone else about this but a sledgehammer ladder match sounds so ridiculous i can't even type it without pulling a face. Let Nash & Trips beat the hell out of each other in a street fight. Ladder match i think could be better off given to Rhodes/Booker T or Ziggler/Ryder.

I'm certainly pumped for this. Even for the one match everyone seems to be down on. It ain't gonna be a technical marvel, but Nash/Triple H is gonna be a psychological masterpiece. Mark my words.

The two matches that are gonna be best (IC and US title matches) are the gimmickless matches, which is a good thing.

And so what if the other matches have stipulations? It's a gimmick PPV, they're supposed to have stipulations, the idea being that they're something different. Does it always work? No, but even so, shitting on the PPV before it starts is gonna achieve nothing more than you being disappointed, because you set yourself up for disappointment.

I don't get where this idea that we have to shit on everything that isn't a callback to the Attitude Era comes from. It's why I don't consider myself a smark anymore these days. Because being a smark these days means over-analysing everything, then shitting all over it because Stone Cold vs The Rock was better, and then declaring that everything that happened after the attitude era that didn't include CM Punk is a failed abortion of a storyline.

Granted, the material hasn't been great in the last couple of years, but everytime WWE starts to build up a little bit of steam, smarks shit all over it and kill any momentum it has.

"OMG WHY DID THEY BRING CM PUNK BACK SO EARLY? NOW HE'S STALE!"
"HOW LONG TIL WWE SCREWS THIS ONE UP, AMIRITE?"

It's shit like this, all the time, IWC. This is why I don't consider myself a smark. I would rather sit back, and enjoy the show, regardless of whether it has low points, than sit there taking notes on how shit everything is and then bitch for the rest of my life about John Cena's work rate.
