NWK's thoughts on current TNA

I recently picked up watching TNA again, and I've got a mighty long rant ahead.

The "wrestling matters" slogan is hogwash. It's obviously a potshot at WWE for one thing. For another, you don't make a huge claim like that when you haven't had a reputation of delivering well on your promises before. TNA should stop trying to compete with WWE in terms of ratings, and maybe focus on their own internal matters, in my opinion, it would make things a lot smoother.

TNA has, quite literally, the best roster assembled in the main stream, and it's unbearable because the booking sucks! Now, I'm not going to go on a "Fire Russo" tangent here like the IWC is so fond of. The problem I have with the booking isn't Russo, it's the fact there seems to be no one vetoing Russo's decisions and keeping with continuity. For example, Mr Anderson joining Immortal, and then getting kicked out like a month later, and then Kurt Angle joining Immortal in his place. This is a huge storyline, that effects the entire alignment of your upper card. What should've taken 6 months (factoring in proper booking, character development etc) Russo has managed to blend into a one month swervefest with no supervision.

The Bound for Glory Series was confusing as hell. I've never been much a fan of series like these unless it's in a properly organized tournament setting. It was entirely too hard to keep track of, especially with people like Morgan and Crimson dropping out due to injury and no end in sight until it was just thrust upon us. If you must take a guy out of a tournament, write him out of the storyline by having another guy attack him or something, so the injured guy has something to work with when he comes back. Morgan dropping out with an arm injury that's attributed to no one in particular will probably leave him floundering around in the midcard when he comes back.

Now, there is one guy I'd like to talk about and that is Sting. If someone came up to me and told me, "NWK, you should watch Impact tonight, Sting's got a new gimmick as a psychopathic babyface." I would immediately make arrangements to watch Impact. The problem was, someone came up to me and told me, "NWK, did you see Impact? Sting's directly emulating The Joker."

What I'm trying to say here is, Sting going insane would be legitimately entertaining if he hadn't started emulating Ledger's Joker, which is like, two years past relevance. And speaking of not relevant, why are we getting Sting vs. Flair again? Sting vs. Hogan I kind of get, because the fans want to see babyface Sting topple Immortal, but what's the point of Sting vs. Flair?

Rant over.

Yeah. I was about to say. That was mighty well contained and under control for a rant. Good points, though.

I'd like to point out that Morgan IS back now. He beat Samoa Joe last night at No Surrender which outside of Aries/Kendrick was a crap show.
