ROH How We Roll (5/12/2006)- Long Island, NY

ADAM PEARCE PROMO- Awesome

NIGEL MCGUINNESS PROMO- Good

MATT SYDAL vs. JIMMY YANG- 5.75/10

CHRISTIAN CAGE & BRYAN DANIELSON PICK THEIR PARTNERS FOR THE MAIN EVENT- great and surprisingly funny.

NIGEL MCGUINNESS vs. KIKUTARO vs. DELIRIOUS- 6/10 Good comedy with Nigel getting fed up with the antics of Kikutaro and Delirious.

ALEX SHELLEY & JIMMY RAVE (w/Prince Nana & Daizee Haze) vs. HOMICIDE & RICKY REYES (w/Julius Smokes)- 6.75/10. Good action and a finish does a GREAT job of getting you pissed off at the heels and plays into the ROH-CZW angle perfectly.

ADAM PEARCE & BJ WHITMER vs. THE KINGS OF WRESTLING (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli)- 7/10. Good storytelling and good aftermath.

SAMOA JOE vs. APOCOLYPSE-5/10.

RODERICK STRONG vs. MARK BRISCOE- 6.5/10

LACEY PROMO- explains why Jimmy Jacobs isn’t here this weekend and plays into the angle well. Plus, Lacey is hot.

AUSTIN ARIES vs. JAY BRISCOE- 7/10

CHRISTIAN CAGE & COLT CABANA vs. CHRISTOPHER DANIELS & BRYAN DANIELSON- 7.25/10. Disappointing, but I loved the finish.

ADAM PEARCE PROMO- Great.

Overall, this was a very disappointing show from ROH. Definitely not recommended unless you like collecting shows with special appearances, in which case this being one of Christian’s only two ROH matches should be an attraction for you, but considering that his other match is on a show with a Dragon vs. Nigel match, you should probably get that show instead. Unless you are collecting every show in the ROH-CZW war, skip this show (and if you are, this is probably the worst one of them).

I bought this dvd bc I figured I couldn't go wrong; well, I did. It's the only ROH dvd I own that doesn't have an outstanding bout on it. I give it a little slack bc it's the first night of a two night gig, but I've seen shows on fridays that were much better. The Aries/Strong v. Briscoes matches were the only good matches i thought. The tag match was what sold me and got me to buy this show, but Nana and Smokes dominated the match too much

I actually enjoyed the interaction between them. Hell, it even got me to cheer for Julius Smokes. I was okay with them dominating the match because it was important in the finish.

It was funny when they were dissing on each other, but the wrestlers themselves got too distracted by it all. the part where they got in the ring and were about to go at it bothered me; why the hell would Cide & Reyes keep Smokes from cracking Nana? That didn't make sense to me. If anything, given the attitude of the Rottweillers, one would epect them to instigate the fight. I thought they could have done the exact same finish by having Smokes beat the hell out of Nana and the ref DQing the Rottweillers for instigating....

Why would there be a DQ for smokes beating up Nana? Neither of them were involved in the match.

And the DQ itself wasn't as important as how the DQ happened. The point was to have Cide feel cheated, thus putting even more doubt on whether he would join ROH's fight against CZW. In order for that to happen, there had to be a dirty finish, and having Smokes get DQed because he got caught doing something that Nana got away with less than a minute before that did that perfectly.
