2 Cents: CM Punk's next move

CM Punk is supposedly leaving WWE on the 17th July. Money In The Bank is supposed to be his last appearance.

This could be a great storyline or he could well be on his way...

What are your two cents on CM Punks next move?

He might as well demand one of those cushy per appearance contracts from TNA, and make a title run part of his contract so he can REALLY claim to be the best in the world. (Not like there's much doubt of his capability.)

I say, no way do they let Punk walk. I simply can't see them pushing somebody that's on their way out this hard. Starting with his clean wins over Mysterio (whom he couldn't beat to save his life a year ago) and moving into a title program with Cena which is now very high profile - removing restrictions for a promo and what-not. This is not how you treat somebody that isn't nailed down.

What if they have no choice? It's what the people want. And Punk is almost bar none the best heel and best wrestler on the roster. Letting him loose like that would get people's attention, and they got it, a whole shitload of it. If they are letting him go, they're milking all they can out of it.

What YCW said. This isn't a release, it is an expiring contract. Both WWE AND PUNK have to want it. If Punk doesn't want it, WWE is getting the most that they can out of this exit angle.

True. Why not make a few final bucks off a guy before he leaves!?

But if Punk is leaving, then having this high a profile on his way out will raise his stock tremendously & we could end up a top guy in TNA & with a World title reign there becoming the first person to hold a World title in ROH, TNA, & WWE...

Punk is far too smart to go to TNA. Anyone can see that TNA is a mess right now especialy someone as smart as CM Punk. He'd go back to ROH than go to TNA again.

He'd join a carnival wrestling show before joining TNA...

Don't knock carnival wrestling. That's where this sport got its start: sideshow strongmen beating the crap out of dumb farmhands.

this. we all know WWE always looks to bury a guy before he leaves. Though Punk has jobbed for the better part of this year (until Capitol Punishment he hadn't won a ppv match, and not many on raw either) for him to get such a tremendous push now suggests to me that he's not going anywhere. WWE would not make such a bad "business decision." I think that Punk has just been working us all along so we can get a worthwhile swerve for the first time in a long time....

That's what the 90 day no-compete clause is.

I don't think that'll stall the momentum he has at the moment. Plus, I thought the no-compete clause was only for those who received their release; not those whose contract expired....

You are right on both counts (although the momentum would be dulled a bit).

This. Carrying momentum into another company outside of the Monday Night Wars has rarely worked. It's tough as it's usually a different audience base.

but that momentum is not really relevant outside the WWE Universe. the IWC heads will definitely turn whatever direction he decides to go, but it shouldn't worry WWE that much. If Jeff Hardy wasn't able to do it back when he returned to TNA, i highly doubt a heel Punk will make WWE fans tune in TNA.

Here's something interesting of note... ROH is holding their very first TV taping for SBG on August 13...in Chicago...
