Daniel Bryan has reportedly signed with AEW.

Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net reports Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) is "locked in" and "100% signed a contract with AEW."

Haynes also reports "was wanting to work less dates for comparable money, he wanted the ability to be able to work in Japan, and wanted to have creative input on his character, which he got." Haynes goes on to report that the "tentative plans creatively" are for Bryan to debut at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City on September 22.

Fightful cannot confirm the report.

PWInsider reported on July 20 Bryan was not listed on the internal plans for WWE merchandising and licensing for 2021-2022.

Bryan's contract with WWE expired following his match with Roman Reigns on the April 30 episode of WWE SmackDown. As per the stipulation of the match, Bryan was banished from SmackDown.

Bryan has not addressed his future since his contract expired.

Along with main eventing the April 30 episode of SmackDown against Reigns, Bryan main evented WrestleMania 37 in a triple threat match Reigns and Edge. Bryan is a former four-time WWE Champion. He has not wrestled outside of WWE since 2010.

Fightful will update fans on the status of Bryan as more is known.

I don't know who this "Cassidy Haynes" person is, but if he/she is willing to but his/her name on a statement this certain, it seems likely to me that it's at least partially true, because being wrong about something like this will kill your credibility instantly if you're not someone who already has a name.

I also saw Sean Ross from fightful tweet that he was investigating some time before posting this story on their site, so there had to be something he got that gave them enough confidence to post it. It may be 'talks' too for all we know.

Between punk and this, i'll believe them when I see them debut as Outsiders2.0 or something.

They could lawn-dart Marko Stunt into a trailer.

"Where is Billionaire Tony?"

in today's WOR, Dave didn't confirm, but sounded confident that Danielson is going to AEW and that NYC may be the debut day
