The daughter legendary WWE Hall Of Famer Eddie Guerrero has revealed why she performed under a pseudonym during her tenure in WWE's developmental brands FCW and NXT.

“I remember being told, I’m not going to say by who, that if you suck, we can’t drag your family’s name in the mud," Guerrero said. "I understood that. Again, it’s like they never said I had to be as good as my dad, but there was always little things like that which are hard to ignore. That was day one.”

Guerrero said she was shocked by the unnamed person's explanation, and went on to open up about the difficulties of entering the wrestling business as the child of someone a beloved as Eddie Guerrero.

“When I first went into wrestling, I went into the largest and most prestige company in the world. I am very grateful for that, but that also comes with the biggest amount of pressure. It was so intense, not to mention the Guerrero way, go hard or go home. High expectations are just in the family. I was having panic attacks just going to training sessions," she explained.

Shaul Guerrero signed a developmental deal with WWE in 2010. She initially reported for duty at Florida Championship Wrestling, which would later be re-branded as NXT. In August 2014, Guerrero announced that she had pared ways with WWE due to an ongoing eating disorder.

Since leaving WWE, Guerrero has performed sporadically on the independent scene. She also worked as a ring announcer for Lucha Underground and for All Elite Wrestling's AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament.

It seems like a crappy thing to say to someone, but the logic behind it is relatively sound. Not everyone is going to be Randy Orton or Cody Rhodes. Sometimes you get a Ted DIbiase Jr., or even someone as bad as David Flair.
And, I'm sure they weren't thinking it, but my brain immediately went to "and then they can do a big angle where she reveals her real identity like Eddie unmasking himself!"

Of course, the whole thing becomes pointless (and even rather silly) when you acknowledge her parentage on TV while still giving her a different name.

it's something that you'd expect from a family member, but coming from a company that is just trying to make money out of your name and you're not even allowed to use it, that's shitty.

I'd be pretty pissed if a family member told me "you're not good enough to use the family name" when it's a shoot name, too.

oh yeah, 100%, I kinda feel this happens when you're a big mess of a person and the family wants to disown you. Like, it wouldn't surprise me if the Hart family told Teddy Hart to fuck off.
