KENNY WILLIAMS & AMIR JORDAN vs. PRETTY DEADLY (Lewis Howley & Sam Stoker)- 6/10
Jordan’s injured arm got worked over but both he and Williams put in great babyface efforts to pick up the win.
IMPERIUM INTERVIEW AFTER LAST WEEK’S SHOW- very good
They’re furious that their title shot got ruined and now they have to be in a ladder match, but they’ll do what it takes to win the tag titles.
EL LIGERO SELFIE PROMO- awesome, but…
Ligero cut this AWESOME promo about how he always had so much respect for Kassius Ohno but when he finally got to wrestle Ohno, Ohno used dirty tactics to beat him, so he has now learned that it doesn’t matter how much your respect someone; it matters how much they respect you… and when he faces Kassius Ohno, he’s going to beat some respect into Ohno.
The problem is that this match happened in APRIL, and Ligero has only gotten around to addressing it now. It makes it hard to believe that he actually cares that much.
TRENT SEVEN AND EDDIE DENNIS SEGMENT- very bad segment
Seven comes out and calls out Eddie Dennis so he can figure out what Eddie wants and why he is acting so weird. Dennis came out while Seven rambled on about the great success of NXT UK and how he is proud to be one of the originals and a “founding father” of NXT UK. Dennis walked up to him and hit him in the head with a microphone… and I can’t say I blame him because Seven was extremely annoying. Dennis told Seven he’d see him at TakeOver.
TAKEOVER BLACKPOOL II WOMEN’S TITLE MATCH VIDEO PACKAGE- great!
AMALE vs. JINNY (w/Jazzy Gabert)- 5/10
A very good match for the time it got. Amale was a pretty good babyface, which caught me by surprise.
POST-MATCH SEGMENT- meh
Jinny commanded Jazzy to beat Amale up so Jazzy hit her with a short-arm clothesline. Jinny told Jazzy to do it again so she did. Jinny ordered a third one but Jazzy refused and walked off. This seems like something that should have been saved for a situation where it actually meant something. Yes, Jazzy is defying Jinny’s orders, but it’s not like this is a situation where Jinny actually needs Jazzy. It’s just Jinny being cruel, which Jazzy usually has no problem with.
RADZIE INTERVIEWS WALTER- decent
WALTER tells us that in two weeks Alexander Wolfe will destroy “Gallus’ puppet” Ilja Dragunov, giving Imperium a tactical advantage.
TYLER BATE vs. NOAM DAR- 8.25/10
You know… when NXT UK doesn’t give us a f*ck finish in the main event, the main events have been pretty awesome lately. This was a wonderful battle of wills with some excellent twists on Bate’s usual spots. Jordan Devlin came out to distract Bate but Bate overcame the distraction and got the win.
POST-MATCH SEGMENT- meh
Devlin charged at Bate pretty much the moment the bell rang, but Bate was able to get up and ready in time and scared him off.
A good episode of NXT UK, despite the one terrible segment. Bate vs. Dar really is worth going out of your way to see.
