With a little digging, there's many rumors about why Koko decided The Masked Patriot needed a dose of the humble. I mean, after all that, the brainbuster was very well executed and done safely, so it's pretty clear he wasn't out to end his career - just send a message.

Somebody said he liked to use that "N" word in the back, others said he was working outlaw shows so Jarrett booked him for a legal beatdown... Koko himself said in an interview regarding the incident that everyone was told to go out and work stiff for TV and being new he just wanted to show everyone in the back that he was "a tough cookie", he apologized to The Masked Patriot afterwards, who proceeded to shake his hand and thank him for the match...

Not sure I believe any of that, but fun speculation none the less!
