We all know TNA sucks ass. That's quite easy to see even if you don't watch it (like myself; thanks BRM for the totally bias-free reviews!). But besides the crap quality, the thing that I think what really repels general audiences is the sheer audacity and nerve of the complex angles. If you miss a week of Impact, chances are if you tune in next week you will have no idea what the hell is going on. And if you miss two weeks, oh god help you. Because the show is 100 minutes of promos, 2 minutes of wrestling, and 18 of commercials, it can get very complex and quite boring if you don't know what has already been established. It turns people off, especially people who just want to see wrestling (which people do do, because TNA's roster is quite impressive to be honest).
The angles are so complex and soap-opera-y, people who do not completely understand will get turned off. Think of it this way - if you try and start to watch a soap opera in the middle of a season, you will be confused and asking questions. On top of this, the show cannot logically explain what has happened thus far and it sucks on top of THAT. Would you keep watching?
Never mind the complete incompetency of the bookers, but you know, that's a whole different rant.

Re: Underlying Issues
I actually disagree with you here. Missing a week or two won't set you back, because the angles don't really go anywhere. Joe vs. Pope has been stalled for a while, and Bubba vs. Devon was doing the same. Angel vs. Jarrett hasn't changed much either, nor has Mickie vs. Madison.
If you ask me, THAT is a major problem. That certian major angles aren't going aywehre for months at a time.

Not every angle is, but what about Immortal and Fortune? What about Hogan and Dixie? "They"? And whatever the fuck has been going on in the World Title picture? Apparently there have been like 3 different champions already this year or something.Big Red Machine wrote:I actually disagree with you here. Re: Underlying Issues
I think that is the problem, Feuds/Angles either get stalled and never go anywhere, or they either end quickly without a real reasonable finish.Big Red Machine wrote:I actually disagree with you here. Re: Underlying Issues
Everything involviong the World Title has been built to (mostly) logically, and in some cases... (dare I say it) well. The Hogan-Dixie thing has only had one change all year, and it was on a show that they hyped the hell out of. The same with Fortune and Immortal. If you miss a show that they hype the hell out of, you should expect there to have been some major changes.yourcrapsweak wrote:Not every angle is, but what about Immortal and Fortune?
