The segment with LaVar Ball and the Ball family that nearly went off the rails wound up with LaMelo Ball, with a live mic, at one point saying, "Beat that," and followed with the N word, while his father was running around going crazy teasing that he wanted to fight The Miz.

LaMelo is the youngest of the three Ball sons, and is a high school basketball star at Chino Hills High School in Southern California. He's committed to UCLA as part of the program's 2019 basketball recruiting class.

As you can imagine, backstage was chaos.

WWE immediately responded to the Los Angeles Times saying, "The inappropriate language used by a guest during the Miz TV segment was not scripted, nor reflects WWE's values."

According to one person backstage, the key people, notably Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon, were very unhappy backstage when the word was audible to the crowd.

Hopefully we've learned our lesson about letting crazy people have a live mic.

This is why non-wrestlers shouldn't be given a live mic period, in my opinion. Fortunately I skipped most of this segment.

That might be a little harsh, but I definitely think that if you're giving someone a live mic you need to be sure that they understand what their role is and what the do's and don't's are.

problem is that it wasn't even the father, it was the kid, so i think it's not as much as crazy as rather mature people

This is a gross overstatement. Just because isn't under WWE contract doesn't mean they're gonna call someone a n**** lol.

He's just an idiot in general and I guess the apple doesn't fall from the tree.

Yeah, but someone who isn't yet mature but has been raised by a crazy person is more likely than the average immature person to say things without considering the consequences or the environment- which is basically the same problem with a crazy person.

This is just like when Charlemagne the radio host dude went on Ridiculousness and Said some crap to the Blonde woman and she lost it. I was literally talking about people like him yesterday and someone grouped this Ball dude in with him...All they do and are known is talking crazy and running their mouth...so why have them on your show?
