We now know who will be inducting Kurt Angle into the WWE Hall of Fame.

WWE announced on Thursday afternoon that John Cena would be doing the honors. Cena debuted in WWE against Angle by answering an open challenge on SmackDown in June 2002, where Cena was portrayed as putting up a good fight before losing to Angle.

After it was announced that he would be headlining the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class, Angle spoke to Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso and called it a "no-brainer" for Steve Austin to induct him.

Angle later appeared on Live Audio Wrestling with John Pollock, where he said the decision wasn't up to him but believed WWE would listen to his input. He mentioned Austin, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, and Cena as potential choices.

The Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on March 31st at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida over WrestleMania weekend.

Nope! John Cena has to once again, "steal the spotlight" lol.

While I see the thought behind it, I'm not sure it's the best choice. What about Edge, the guy that originally shaved his hair lol

Edge vs Angle wasn't even that big. Cena debuted against Angle and thanks to that Cena made his big impact. First choice should had been Shelton and Haas

Edge vs. Angle was big for Edge in hindsight because that was the feud that proved Edge's main event chops. If Edge hadn't gotten injured in early 2003 we might look at that feud as a bigger moment.

but it's none of his legendary rivals, neither Edge's nor Kurt's.

I think Edge ranks pretty highly on Kurt's list (Benoit, Eddie, Joe... then maybe HBK and Cena and maybe Edge and AJ a step below that? [if Edge isn't already in that second tier]).

I forgot about Brock, LOL.
I don't put Rock and Austin up there with Kurt's top opponents. They had great matches together (especially Kurt and Austin), but they just never felt like epic rivalries to me.

ok, i'll give you Rock, but I do feel like Austin vs Angle was big enough, the invasion was kinda built around that. I also forgot about Triple H, but I guess he's also second tier

It feels more the other way to me: Austin vs. Angle was just a part of the Invasion.

I feel like Cena is a good choice because his debut against Angle was what started his career. I don't think anyone else at the time could have made him look so good, especially in defeat, to get eyes on him. And that "ruthless aggression" clip is probably going to be in highlight reels for both guys forever.

My second choice would be WGTT for sure though.

My thoughts exactly.
