And if these are successful, we'll finally learn how much they really care about helping ROH.

update:

Earlier today, I noted that New Japan was looking at the G1 Climax tournament as their goal in running in the United States alone without any promotional partners.

PWInsider.com has confirmed that the company is looking at running multiple dates at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA, (so, the greater Los Angeles area) sometime in July 2017. So, that's the goal.

Huh.

That's a good excuse to
1) not want any other partners to have their name on the show
2) Draw as well as they possibly can in the US

It might also get some people to sign up for New Japan World for the rest of the G1.

The LA area is a logical choice (not generally much New Japan participation on shows down there, as in the US/Canada they tend to work for ROH, D'Amore, and Bruce Tharpe), but also an interesting one, as it might help them gauge interest for running a show on their own in Mexico sometime in the near future. I'm sure there will be some very interesting private discussions going on between Delirious and Paco.

i kinda saw it at first as we run the ROH shows on the east coast and then we just travel to the west coast for out own shows. But trying to run G1 shows over here is gonna suck for the wrestlers, the g1 is already hard on them, now add overseas travel to that

The logical way to do it would be to start in the US, but they're not going to give up that big house for the first night in Japan. If they're willing to make the G1 overly long- which we all know they are more than willing to do- they could do a US swing in the middle with two days off on each side, which might actually be a nice break for the wrestlers.

In other implications of this, it would seem to indicate that work is going to be done to get certain people (i.e. Kenny Omega) US working papers, which could help out ROH, as they would be able to use him for shows outside of Toronto.

Could also mean that a bunch of gaijin guys may make it to the tournament. Cole, Cody, Elgin, Lethal

None of those would surprise me and this certainly helps that, but I figured that would happen anyway (though probably not Lethal, as he really hasn't gotten over in Japan). But there is no way in hell they're having Omega not be in the G1, so I think it's a stronger indication of the papers thing.

So I'm not good at posting Tweets but apparently, in response to WWE's UK thing, Kidani said that WWE is trying to create a global system of territories and "we're entering an era where you're either with WWE or you're against them."
