yeap, so I take it Taylor and Lee are gonna take the win, but i figured those teams would have a fight without honor or something like that in FB, not sure what they would do nowBig Red Machine wrote:Hmmm... which means War Machine will be missing Final Battle and its associated TV taping.
Well their match tonight is a "No Rules" match, but it has been promoted SOOOO poorly that I would be furious if that was the blow-off (it won't even be the main event because of SOTF). The right thing to do would be for Lee & Taylor to not only win but destroy them and then have them spend months cutting promos about how they "chased War Machine out of ROH or whatever, the have War Machine come back at at the tapings in Atlanta on 1/14 and do a proper blow-off at the Anniversary Show...cero2k wrote:yeap, so I take it Taylor and Lee are gonna take the win, but i figured those teams would have a fight without honor or something like that in FB, not sure what they would do nowBig Red Machine wrote:Hmmm... which means War Machine will be missing Final Battle and its associated TV taping.
this is what i was expecting too, but then ROH will likely mention they are at the Tag League and won't see was they ran off rather they got invited to this prestigious tournament. It be awesome if ROH or NJPW would have made some random announcement that the spot in the tournament was in the line or something, idkBig Red Machine wrote: Well their match tonight is a "No Rules" match, but it has been promoted SOOOO poorly that I would be furious if that was the blow-off (it won't even be the main event because of SOTF). But this is Delirious booking so the right thing rarely ever gets done, especially on house shows.
The idea would be that everyone knows that War Machine are in New Japan but Lee & Taylor are being heels and saying this to get heat because it implies War Machine are cowards.cero2k wrote:this is what i was expecting too, but then ROH will likely mention they are at the Tag League and won't see was they ran off rather they got invited to this prestigious tournament. That is certainly unexpected, but it will be fun to see them do the Hunter Club entrance.cero2k wrote:In a really really weird move. Yoshitatsu and Billy Gunn enter the tournament

Especially Kenny and Okada being there, you just know they're not winning anyway. One team should have been Go and Nakajima, maybe another could have been Ricochet/Finlay and that would give Bucks enough material to be pissed that they were not included.
exactly, if you're struggling to make up teams, just make it a tournament with less teams, then you can do those Okada/Kenny matches with the juniors.Big Red Machine wrote: You'd think that standard New Japan operating procedure would be to stick Okada and Omega in as many matches together as possible to build anticipation for the Tokyo Dome, but this forces them to only have one. And last time I checked wasn't Owens and Jr. Heavyweight? it definitely feels like they made a stretch just to get that fourth Bullet Club team in the tournament. A CMLL team would have made more sense.
Go and Nakajima were probably needed for NOAH. I also get the sense that that promo the Bucks cut about wanting to win the heavyweight tag titles was just a one-off that wasn't intended to go anywhere past that one match with the Briscoes. Personally, it's the sort of thing I would never do just for the sake of a one-off, but New Japan hasn't been putting much effort into any titles that aren't the two big singles belts, anyway. I'd say they were putting some effort into the Jr. Heavyweight Title, but if that was the case then why have KUSHIDA lose it to BUSHI at all if he was just going to get it right back? Why not have him retain against BUSHI, get in a title defense against someone like Ricochet or a even a NOAH guy here, at Power Struggle and then do the Kamaitachi match at the Dome with KUSHIDA having been champ for a whole year?
Also, who is X?
