On Wednesday afternoon, Ring of Honor's official Twitter account retweeted a link from the Spanish-language mediatiempo.com announcing that ROH and CMLL have entered into an official working relationship.

CMLL made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday, and the two promotions are natural partners, as both have strong relationships with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The article notes that an official talent exchange between the two companies has been agreed to, and the crossover of talent began last month when CMLL's Stuka Jr. wrestled at ROH's TV tapings in Philadelphia against Kamaitachi.

ROH's Matt Taven will be headed to Mexico later this year and will compete for CMLL on September 9th at Arena Mexico.

That show will be just days after CMLL holds what is usually one of the biggest wrestling events of the year with the 83rd edition of their anniversary show. CMLL announced the full card for that show today, with Dragon Lee vs. La Mascara headlining it in a mask vs. mask match.

Dragon Lee will make his ROH debut later this year at All Star Extravaganza VII.

The full card for CMLL's anniversary show is:

Dragon Lee vs. La Mascara in a mask vs. mask match
CMLL World Trios Champions Mistico, Valiente, & Volador Jr. vs. Ultimo Guerrero, Gran Guerrero, & Euforia in a championship match
Barbaro Cavernario, Felino, & Negro Casas vs. Atlantis, Caristico, & Mascara Dorada
Super Crazy vs. Rey Bucanero in a hair vs. hair match
Ephesto, Mephisto, & Shocker vs. Marco Corleone, Maximo, & Stuka Jr.
Amapola, Dalys, & Zeuxis vs. Lluvia, Marcela, Princesa Sugehit

To be honest... I don't think this is a good idea for ROH. They don't need CMLL. Bringing in one or two guys one every few months would be cool, but who in CMLL will really help ROH draw? And with ROH creative being the stagnant cesspool it currently is, adding a bunch more guys with no storylines will only make things worse.

i think it helps more to send ROH guys to CMLL and get the ROH name out there in mexico, it's know, but not that well known. And for CMLL guys wanting to go to ROH, I'm sure guys like Volador or RUSH are totally down to start working the US more frequently. Maybe bring in some 6 guys for a 3v3 exhibition like they used to with DG. Bring Negro Casas for an Liger like appearance.

That's what it should be, but I'm worried that it will turn into the New Japan relationship, which has resulted in Toru Yano in a pointless six man tag on an ROH PPV.
