TNA Star Announces His Departure

Sgt. Chris Melendez announced this afternoon that he had departed TNA Wrestling, writing via Twitter, "I've decided to move on to the next chapter of my life.I learned alot in & out of the ring.Thank You for the opportunity! Special thanks to the Locker Room & everyone that has embraced me & helped me along the way....You all know who you are! #respect #thankyou. Drumroll......taking bookings at SargeBrand@gmail.com"
Melendez, 29, was trained at the Team 3D Wrestling Academy. A U.S. veteran, Melendez was injured in a 2006 IED attack that cost him his left leg in Iraq, yet still chose to pursue professional wrestling. He was signed by TNA in 2014 and feuded with Kenny King and Eric Young, among others. He had not been used in any recent TNA storylines.
