In addition to Hornswoggle, WWE announced on Friday that Alex Riley and Zeb Colter have also been released from the company.

Riley signed with WWE developmental back in 2007 and is a former FCW Florida Heavyweight Champion. He was part of the second NXT season and was mentored by The Miz. He’d later go on to be Miz’s “apprentice” during Miz’s WWE Championship reign and subsequent feud with John Cena. Following the launch of the WWE Network, Riley did some work as an analyst on WWE kickoff show panels. He did some color commentary work in NXT before returning to the ring in NXT last year. Knee surgery kept him out of action for the better part of 2015. He returned to action in January and wrestled a few matches in NXT.

Zeb Colter had bene with WWE since 2013, when he returned as the manager of Jack Swagger. He’s been off television since late 2015 when his MexAmerica angle with Alberto Del Rio ended.

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstars Cameron, Hornswoggle, Alex Riley, El Torito and Zeb Colter as of today, Friday, May 6, 2016. WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.

not at all, I had totally forgotten than Colter and Marella were still there.

I'm guessing they'll announce some NXT guys and with Henry, Barrett, and potentially Ryback, that should be all the spring cleaning needed

Barrett is gone, too, but he got the dignity of announcing it himself.

Henry, IIRC, is an issue of his contract expiring rather than a release. I assume they'll put him in the HOF either the next time they are in Texas or the next time they run out of black guys to induct, whichever comes first.

Other way around. At best, they work the same style, except End is usually pretty boring in singles matches. Hit a strike... then do nothing for three minutes while the other guy sells. Then repeat. Barrett knows how to both keep a match moving a long and also how to do wrestling moves that are not elbows/forearms to the face.

He'll probably get a lot of play on the indies. It will be very interesting to see who picks him up (CHIKARA? Does PWG pay for him, do LU or ROH or TNA think he is worth anything, etc.)
