A thought on "The Drifter" Elias Sampson

So, a drifter by definition is someone who moves from place to place, usually on foot. When I think of a drifter, I think of a homeless guy, and, in Sampson's case, someone who plays music for money.

That said, Elias is suspiciously clean looking when he's on screen. He looks more like a hipster d-bag you'd see at a bar playing guitar to pick up girls. Is THAT where the heat of the gimmick comes from and I'm missing it? Other than that I don't see it

No. It's just that people don't like Elias Sampson because he's not very good.

What you suggest actually would be a pretty cool direction to take in the gimmick in to try to save it, though.

He looks like Scott Stapp, only less drug-y.
