BRM Reviews the 12/23/2015 ROH (worst of the year)

Kevin Kelly and Prince Nana are on commentary.

CAPRICE COLEMAN PROMO- his word choice was quite wacky here (the whole postal service analogy kind of worked, but not really), but that just made it funny.

WILL FERRARA vs. CAPRICE COLEMAN- no rating. Good segment.
This Prince Nana stuff could be interesting... but I REALLY don't want to see a new Embassy, and especially not with either of these guys as the new crown jewel.

JAY LETHAL FINDS OUT WHO THE FIRST MEMBER OF HIS TEAM WILL BE- bad. This was WAY too over the top for my liking.

THE ALL-NIGHT EXPRESS vs. "THE OUTLAW" KEN PHOENIX & DONOVAN DIJAK (w/Truth Martini)- 3/10
Apparently Truth bummed a cigarette off of Ken Phoenix this morning, so in return Truth is giving him a tryout in the House of Truth tonight. For those unfamiliar with this gimmick, it means that Phoenix will take the pin, and then then get beaten up by Dijak afterwards.
Prince Nana gave two different heights for Dijak within less than a minute.
Phoenix did indeed get pinned and then get beaten up by Dijak but in this case, he actually deserved it. As for Dijak, about half of his role in this match was to get punked out by ANX, which shows that, while Delirious might be completely failing at booking Dijak like a giant, Dijak himself has no idea how to wrestle like a giant, either.
Also, I'm pretty sure they edited this match towards the end, and I'm not the sort of person who usually notices this.

AN INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT OCCURS- after this match, Nana slipped Dijak one of his mystery envelopes, which Dijak quickly stuffed in his tights so that Truth wouldn't see.

STEVE CORINO PROMO- apparently ROH is allowing him to show up and speak despite being suspended because it's Christmas and he just had neck surgery, and I guess ROH feels bad for him. Steve said that when he is healed, Whitmer will have to pay for his sins.

CHRISTMAS SURPRISE TEN MAN TAG TEAM MATCH: Jay Lethal, Cliff Compton, Adam Page, Jay Briscoe, & Cheeseburger (w/the House of Truth & The Decade) vs. Roderick Strong, Mark Briscoe, Cedric Alexander, Matt Jackson, & Moose (w/Veda Scott, Nick Jackson, & Stokely Hathaway)- 6.25/10
Cliff Compton got almost no reaction because no one gives a sh*t about him and ROH should just stop booking him already. Daizee Haze, I am BEGGING you, for the good of Ring of Honor: Please start making whoopy with Delirious again so that he doesn't have to turn to Compton to do it in exchange for bookings.

Kevin Kelly claims that Cliff Compton vs. Mark Briscoe "is a match-up that has been brewing for months now."
What? Since when?
So those two start exchanging punches in the ring, but apparently the ring wasn't good enough for Compton, who pointed to the floor, indicating that he and Mark should go out. So they both went out to the floor so that they could exchange punches out there. That was stupid. Then Compton got a table, so Mark went to go get a chair and the biggest pop of the show from me so far was Tod Sinclair yelling at them: "NONE OF THIS CRAP! GET BACK IN THE RING!"
This was NOT a main event quality match. There were too many silly spots in the first ten minutes or so. It got better in the last five, but not too much. Compton took a bump off the top rope through a table because that's the only way he can get a reaction. I'm also absolutely appalled that on a team with both Cliff Compton and CHEESEBURGER... Delirious booked Adam Page to take the pin.

A bad show from ROH, Almost certainly the worst of the year. whose only redeeming feature was the five seconds it took for Nana to discreetly hand Dijak the envelope and for Dijak to hide it from Truth.
