On SmackDown, Sheamus claimed that new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns’ recent actions — which included attacking Triple H at WWE TLC and leveling Vince McMahon with a Superman Punch on Raw — are currently under investigation by The Authority. Reigns then dismantled the security team that attempted to remove him from the arena. WWE.com teases in its Five-Point Preview for Monday’s Raw that “a harsh fate might await “The Big Dog.” So where is this storyline going?
A one-on-one showdown between Reigns and Triple H is currently planned for Wrestlemania 32on April 3, 2016 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. That, however, could change should Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson commit to wrestling at WrestleMania 32, in which case Reigns and Triple H would blow off their feud at either the Royal Rumble on January 24, 2016 at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida or at Fastlane on February 21, 2016 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. WWE higher-ups, however, are working under the idea that Johnson won’t be available to wrestle.
One idea pitched is similar to how things played out at WrestleMania 30, where Daniel Bryan defeated Triple H to qualify for the Triple Threat main event match, and then beat Batista and Randy Orton to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Triple H would abuse his power and award himself a match against Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 32, while also forcing Reigns to face the winner of the Royal Rumble Match in a separate bout. The idea is that Reigns would be forced to overcome the odds by defending the gold twice in one night.
Another idea pitched is Triple H stripping Reigns of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship before Wrestlemania 32 and firing him in the storyline. This would lead to Reigns facing Triple H in a match where he must defeat Hunter to get his job back.
