In regards to Seth Rollins going down with an injury this month, it may have seemed like WWE officials were in panic mode or running around “like a chicken with its head cut off” but that is not the case, according to PWInsider.

WWE officials knew where they wanted to go with the WWE World Heavyweight Title, with Roman Reigns as champion going into WrestleMania 32 season, and that is still the direction they are going. There was no real panic among WWE higher-ups as they were already close to getting the title on Reigns.

Reigns was scheduled to win the title at Survivor Series and then the rematch would have taken place in a standard TLC match as the main event of the December TLC pay-per-view, where Reigns would have retained.

In regards to reports that the Rollins injury likely changed major WrestleMania 32 plans, word is that there has not been a real shake-up in plans. WWE officials have 3 or 4 main event matches set in stone and Rollins being out won’t change those plans. This indicates that they were not planning on having Rollins in a real main event position at WrestleMania 32.

This is the thing I find most concerning. If you're going to make a guy, wouldn't you want to follow up on it by making sure he is in a prominent position at WrestleMania? If you don't follow up on a first-time champion, you get a situation like Jack Swagger or Magnus or Chris Sabin- where the title win and reign winds up meaning nothing.

i'm kinda calling bullshit on that, there is no way that (1) they were anticipating that their big names like Rock and Sting would be out to not consider Rollins a 'main event' and (2) i don't believe that Triple H wouldn't consider himself a main event match. But then again, this WWE who booked Daniel Bryan in a ladder match and Punk vs Jericho after their biggest years

Well, the idea until recently, I had thought, was to do Rollins vs. Triple H at Royal Rumble and Triple H vs. Rock at Mania.
I'm also not sure that they consider Sting "out" at this point.
If I'm being optimistic, I'd say this means that they know something very positive that we don't know about Daniel Bryan, but as you cited above... that's probably not the case.
