BEST IN THE WORLD MAIN EVENT RECAP VIDEO PACKAGE- good.

TAKAAKI WATANABLE vs. DALTON CASTLE (w/the boys)- 5.75/10
Fine for an undercard match on ROH TV.
Also, there are WAY too many people doing the deadlift German suplex. Smaller guys like Neville and Castle should stop doing it because it just makes it less impressive when the big guys like Elgin and Cesaro do it.

DALTON CASTLE PROMO- so first Castle needs to use a low blow to beat Silas, and now he is purposely antagonizing Silas by stealing his nickname? Isn’t Castle supposed to be the babyface here?
Silas came out to yell at Castle while referees kept them apart.

NIGEL MCGUINNESS INTERIEWS NEW ROH WORLD CHAMPION JAY LETHAL- a decent segment but it established what it needed to.
I am a little unhappy that the tradition of the show after a world title change opening with an interview with the new champ has been broken, but I understand why they didn’t want to start a show off with a segment rather than a match.
What we got out of this was that Lethal will continue to defend both titles going forward. They really hammered home the point that Jay might have to defend both belts in separate matches on the same night. Also, we learn Jay will defend the TV Title against Mark Briscoe. This would be the same Mark Briscoe who Jay successfully retained the title against a scant three weeks ago at Road to Best in the World 2015: Oklahoma City. Yes, Mark has won two matches since then, but that hardly seems like enough to earn another shot at a title you just challenged for unsuccessfully.
Lethal started to talk some trash about Roddy, who then came out and pushed the Death Before Dishonor XIII iPPV and had little tiff with Lethal.

MARIA PROMO- good stuff.
She told Cole that the loss at Best in the World wasn’t his fault, but, of course, by doing so, she did pin the blame for the loss on him (which makes sense because he got pinned). She also pointed out that while Cole has been on the shelf, she, Bennett, and Taven have been going around the world winning titles and being successful, which subtly builds up the unit of the three of them WITHOUT Cole.

MICHAEL ELGIN, KYLE O’REILLY, & BOBBY FISH vs. THE KINGDOM (w/Maria Kanellis)- 7.75/10
reDRagon did strangely little this match, with Elgin carrying the large majority of the workload for his team. Elgin kicking out of that finisher-overkill combination was too much for me. Other than that the match was pretty good. The Cole-O’Reilly stuff was good, as was the post-match stuff, ending in the fan chanting for Cole to “LEAVE THE KINGDOM!” *clap!* * clap!* *clap!*clap!*clap!* and Cole walking off was very good.
A good show from ROH, as always. They did a good job of plugging the iPPV and setting the new post-PPV direction.
