OPENING RECAP VIDEO- great!

DARIO IS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE CREW… SO HE TAKES THEM TO MEET MATANZA- these f*ckers had better not fail Dario again, but I’m kind of hoping that they do so that we can learn more about Matanza.

FENIX vs. KILLSHOT- 6.75/10
Where’s Catrina? Isn’t she with Fenix now?
A great opener, a great first win back for Fenix, and a very strong loss for Killshot, letting us know that he’s someone who is going be around to stay, and has a lot more potential than just being Big Ryck’s replacement lackey. And how about that freakin’ cutter spot? And that finish?! Both looked SICK!

The “STILL TO COME” graphic is new.

DARIO VISITS DRAGO IN THE BATHROOM- Dario shows up and says “Drago. I knew I’d find you here,” and I just completely cracked up. So either Drago lives in the bathroom, or it is the place that he finds the most serenity, so he likes to hang out there a lot.
Anyway, they strongly hinted that Dario likes Drago a lot (he said that the stip wasn’t meant for him, so I guess Dario wanted Aero Star to win… but if that’s the case, why not just come up with a different stip of the top of your head, like “the winner gets a title shot” and don’t include the “and is banished from the temple forever if he loses” part?), and thus is going to try to screw Prince Puma and make Drago champion.

DARIO & PRINCE PUMA BACKSTAGE- interesting.

DARIO BUMPS INTO HERNANDEZ- the plot thickens. Great stuff here. The most interesting of all, of course, is that Hernandez said that he didn’t care about Prince Puma, within Puma’s earshot… but Hernandez might not have known that Puma was there.

FAMOUS B vs. RICKY MANDEL vs. VINNY MASSARO vs. ARGENIS- no rating, good segment.
I assume that the loser of this match “wins” the new Lucha Underground Jobber Title, which isn’t a goal belt so much as it is that you get a giant L stamped on your forehead every time you need to be on camera. Unfortunately, we never got to see who the biggest loser was because El Texano Jr. jumped them all about five seconds into the match and beat them all up.
One thing about this that I loved was the way that Striker and Vampiro framed the match: These were all guys who had had their arms broken by Pentagon Jr, and they might not all be 100%, but they want to win because Dario’s money is “a big incentive.” Framing the match like this did a few things:
1. It reminds us that these guys fight for money, and Dario is rich so he can use that money to incentivize people to take risks they might not otherwise take.
2. It serves as a way of getting Pentagon Jr. on the show without actually getting him on the show, and does it in a different way than just having him come out and break someone’s arm would.
3. The fact that they’re all not 100% makes them look (a little bit) less like dorks when El Texano Jr. shows up and beats them all up with ease.

EL TEXANO JR. PROMO- he calls out the guy who attacked him last week, which was Daivari.

DARIO MEETS WITH A DUDE OUTSIDE- huh…
The dude is in a bright yellow t-shirt that says “Aztec Pride” in big black letters. The kind of cheap-looking shirt that is only ordered for student organizations or wrestling stables, so I’ll assume that has to be important.
Dario was great here, though I was really disappointed that when he was telling the guy that he has to get tickets online, he didn’t give out the name of the website where you can actually get tickets for Lucha Underground tapings. That would have been awesome.
The guys says his name is Marty “the Moth” Martinez because his “spirit animal” is a moth, and he also claims to have Aztec blood. He wants to compete, but Dario won’t let him because he thinks he’ll get completely “squashed, like a… moth,” so he locks the guy outside.

#1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH: King Cuerno vs. Cage vs. Hernandez- 5.5/10
I was REALLY disappointed that they chose to have that Marty the Moth guy run in here because it got in the way of the great story they were telling, and the fact that the match ended so quickly so soon after just intensified my disappointment. This felt like the first few minutes of a match that was destined be fantastic.

VAMPIRO INTERVIEWS THE TRIOS CHAMPS- Great stuff. Ivelisse got annoying, though. Especially when she buried Angelico’s crazy highspot as “just a crossbody, the most basic move in wrestling.” Also… a CROSSBODY is the most basic move in wrestling? Yeah… I’m not buying that one.

LUCHA UNDERGROUND TITLE VS. LUCHA UNDERGROUND CAREER MATCH: Prince Puma(c) (w/Konnan) vs. Drago(career)- 6.75/10
CRAZY RED FLAME-PATTERNED GEAR FOR DRAGO!
Some of the stuff felt a bit too Lucha-tastic at times, and I was disappointed by the non-clean finish. It was a great finish for the story they are trying to tell with Konnan, Hernandez, and Prince Puma, but it was still disappointing for me personally because I’m not really not liking all of the dirty finishes recently.

DRAGO & DARIO BACKSTAGE- Drago said something to Dario. I couldn’t quite tell what it was, but it sounded like “we will meet again.” Then Drago walked outside and disappeared in pillar of flame.

A good show from Lucha Underground despite some disappointing dirty finishes.
