One of the most popular Divas in WWE has decided to call it quits.
Three-time Divas champion AJ Lee has parted ways with WWE, according to WWE.com. Lee had been rumored to have soured on active competition and her role in the company for some time and she has reportedly opted to retire from in-ring competition. Her most recent appearances had her winning a tag team match with Paige over the Bellas at WrestleMania 31 on Sunday and being on the winning side in a six-person Divas tag match the following night on RAW.
Lee, who in real life is married to former WWE champion and recent UFC signee CM Punk, is a lifelong wrestling fan who made her WWE debut on the third season of NXT in 2010. She initially teamed with Kaitlyn as the Chickbusters before becoming one of the focal points of the Divas division.
Lee was notably one of the few WWE Divas not to be cast in the Total Divas reality show on E! and recently drew attention by publicly calling out Stephanie McMahon on social media for not giving Divas an equal chance within the company.
