ROH TV 1/10/15 Review:
Roderick Strong vs Mark Briscoe: **3/4 Good match that got Roderick a win over an ROH veteran to help him in his quest to regain the ROH World Title and Mark got some cool spots in too I thought Roderick's reversal to Mark's dropkick thru the ropes was particularly cool looking
Nigel McGuinness/ Tommaso Ciampa Confrontation: Nigel saying the higher ups in ROH didn't see Final Battle made it seem like the owners didn't care about there own company which was bad. However Nigel saying that Ciampa is fine because it was an accident and putting him in the No. 1 Contenders match later after Tommaso brought up he was screwed (which they showed afterward he was) in his World Title match with Jay at a show ROH did with PCW in England and Elgin also came out and demanded it as well made sense so I give it a pass
2015 Top Prospect Tournament Quarterfinal Match Will Ferrera vs Jay Diesel: **1/2 This was a simple power man in Jay Diesel vs Scrappy underdog in Ferrera Jay Diesel got some nice power spots and Will got to get in a couple nice moves and while so far I'm not really into either guy much I do think Ferrera was the right choice to win. Post match Diesel attacks Ferrera
3 Way ROH World Title No. 1 Contenders Match Hanson vs Michael Elgin vs Tommaso Ciampa: ***1/2 Really a good to slightly great main event with some good brawling sequences and impressive power moves some of which I've never seen before by all 3 involved (I do not think I've ever seen a guy stop a Suicide Dive attempt by throwing a guy at the guy attempting the dive or a Combination Frankenstiener/Split Legged Moonsault before). It eventually ends in a no contest after Hanson takes out the ref on a dive and they won't stop fighting and the show ends in security trying to separate them while fans are chanting LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!
Overall: Good episode 2 average matches that didn't hurt to see and at least 1 actually helped someone, a decent promo that set up for a really good to great main event and that really good to great main event
