BRM Reviews the 1/8/2015 NXT

SAMI ZAYN PROMO- fantastic. The stuff with Neville was great, too. So great that people almost booed Regal on instinct when his music played. He booked a rematch for next week. Should be awesome.
There is a guy in the front row in a “Balor Club” t-shirt. There’s also a guy farther back in a t-shirt that might either be for Sting or Tama Tonga. I’m pretty sure it’s for Sting, but this is NXT, so you never really know.
VAUDEVILLANS PROMO- okay.
English did all of the talking (obviously).
CURTIS AXEL vs. HIDEO ITAMI- 6.25/10
Axel’s viciousness was good, as was the match, although they finish was a lot less smooth than the rest of their work.
BYRON SAXTON INTERVIEWS NATTIE & TYSON- dumb sh*t about cats. This angle used to be good, but then the WWE main roster writers got their hands on it.
CORBIN-DEMPSEY VIDEO PACKAGE- MUCH better than doing the same suspension of disbelief-killing suspension every single f*cking week. Anyway, they’re having their first match next week.
ALEXA BLISS TIME!
ALEXA BLISS vs. SASHA BANKS (w/Becky Lynch)- 2/10
Short, but awesome as always. Alexa started off hot and hit the Glitter Blizzard for a nearfall, but then Sasha took over and Alexa only got one hope spot in before Sasha won. Sasha kept the hold locked in for a while afterwards. Sasha also taunted Alexa about the fact that she broke Alexa’s nose in their last match.
TYLER BREEZE vs. CHAD GABLE- 2.5/10
Chad Gable is SUPER over for a guy making his debut with absolutely zero hype. The match was short, but good for the time it got. I will admit that I am very puzzled that they had Gable debut with a loss. He’s a former Olympic wrestler and they’re obviously high on him just based on the way the announcers pushed him.
FINN BALOR PROMO- sounds like something a writer wrote for him, and while it was corny, it wasn’t bad and he delivered it well.
SOMETHING ABOUT A CREEPY THING IN THE CORNER OF THE ROOM- um…
NXT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Lucha Dragons(c) vs. the Vaudevillans- 6.5/10
Best showing from the Vaudevillans yet. Lucha Dragons retain with some sort of completely awesome flying spinning lariat/towerbomb combo.
A good episode of NXT which also did a great job of hyping me up for next week’s show, which will have the following matches:
Sami Zayn vs. Adrian Neville for the NXT Title
Tyson Kidd vs. Finn Balor
Barin Corbin vs. Bull Dempsey
Nattie vs. somebody
This should be completely awesome.
