C.M. Punk announced he's starting with UFC. It was a bucket list type thing. He thought it was now or never three years ago, said he has a limited window and I'm here to get my ass kicked or kick somebody's ass.
This is my new career, full steam ahead and it's going to be fun.
Weight is up in the air, he thinks middleweight, maybe welterweight. Not fighting at light heavyweight. He's inquired to certain camps, said he'll announce that very soon.

My immediate response upon seeing the headline was to say "what the f*ck?!" so loudly that my mother thought there was some kind of important world news event.

Now WWE really really really needs to figure out how to sign Brock

Do they? Is his contract really going to be worth it now that PPVs are effectively just $10 a month?
Let him go to UFC/Bellator for a few years, then get him again when decides he is done fighting.

Now I wonder if every jackass is going to crap all over Punk just because he's a "fake" wrestler, like they did for Lesnar.

It's about pride, about not having two of their biggest starts go to UFC in the same year. but you're right, they should raise the cost of PPVs

Which is why if UFC is smart (and if this is only one fight, which I think it is), they'll book it in Chicago to avoid that.

It was more in reference to how almost every opponent Lesnar had would sh*t all over him because he was WWE, regardless that the guy's a former NCAA wrestling champion and probably would have made the NFL if he stuck with football. Only, like, Randy Couture and a couple others never put down his WWE history.
Though he was without a doubt the biggest heel in the most successful wrestling promotion in the world when he was with the UFC.

Lashley, too. I remember his first opponent coming out with a Rey Mysterio match (and then getting obliterated, which actually felt good as a wrestling fan to watch).

you already have that other Phil guy and the green power ranger calling him out, so i do think lots out them will crap on him for being former WWE, and he's a big name in the industry, his head has a price. Good thing for Punk is that he's already friends with a lot of people like the Gracies or Rousey, so at least he won't be alone in the back.

This is going to be interesting. You can't even really compare it to Lesnar's jump. Lesnar LOOKS like a fighter. Call him a phony all you want, he went in with a job to do. He only really spoke once, that promo he cut after the one match about the sponsor sucking and going home to bang his wife or whatever. But, in all, he fit the profile of a fighter. Punk's gonna bring a circus. Lesnar had eyes on him, Punk has an actual fanbase. Like I said, it's gonna be interesting.

the stakes are high, Punk i think is the first UFC signing with an 0-0 record, even lesnar had some MMA fights before signing with UFC. Punk has A LOT to prove
