Sting has trended on Twitter throughout Saturday following a report by the PWInsider.com website that he will appear at Sunday’s Survivor Series pay-per-view in St. Louis, Missouri. The report offers no other details, just that Sting is slated to appear but won’t follow up with an appearance at next week’s WWE television tapings. You can read their piece at this link.

The report has resulted in a tremendous amount of speculation on social media, with our accounts being flooded with questions. I wanted to mention the original piece so people would know 1) where it came from and 2) what the original report said. I am unable to confirm the report and have not been notified of a Sting appearance at Survivor Series.

As to whether or not the report is true, I don’t know. I can’t imagine a story of that magnitude would be posted if it weren’t 100% but since I cannot confirm the report, I am unable to add to it.

Sting has been involved in multiple WWE projects this year, including a DVD (The Best of Sting) and is the headliner of the WWE 2K15 video game. In fact, Sting Tweeted from his verified Twitter account that “Finally, I have arrived” last Tuesday. This was done to coincide with the game being released on Next-Gen consoles in North America and followed a series of cryptic Tweets about his inclusion.

You can read that Tweet below:
Sting made his first appearance with WWE over the summer at a co-promoted panel with Mattel at the San Diego Comic-Con. It was there, Sting joined Paul Heyman, Hulk Hogan and Daniel Bryan. We detailed the appearance further at this link, where we also recapped the relationship Sting has with WWE and even featured a video clip.

If Sting does turn up on Sunday, it will only increase rumors and speculation about him working at Wrestlemania 31 next year. He has not been shy that he wants a match against The Undertaker and has also gone on record as to stating he wishes the streak wouldn’t have ended.

They didn't even mention the most obvious reason for him to show up: WWE needs something BIG on this PPV.

I haven't been watching Raw/Smackdown lately, but man... the rundown of this card doesn't exactly have me scrambling to tune in...

Like I said, haven't been watching, but wtf is Eric Rowan doing in the main event?

Exactly. The build to this show has been so bad. They have thrown everything into the main event, but people don't give a sh*t about it. Sting showing up would be huge news, and would be something that people will care about.

He turned face at the end of last week's RAW and joined Team Cena to replace Sheamus.

Problem with this is that it's such a random thing to do just for cheap pops and quick buys, especially if sting doesn't follow up

Agreed, but we'll see. It's entirely possible they make him the new GM so that they have an excuse for him to be on the show, but for him to not actually wrestle until Mania.

He actually started that before he became GM, but either way, I doubt WWE would ever do something that silly. Bad? Yes. Silly? No. Not with Sting.
