BRM Reviews the 10/18/2014 ROH

ADAM COLE PROMO- good hype for tonight's main event.
HANSON vs. THE ROMANTIC TOUCH- fun squash
R.T. got his comedy spots in, then got killed to death.
DECADE PROMO- good stuff.
Roddy and Jimmy will be getting a tag title shot next week. Jacobs seems interested in the original goals of the group, but Roddy really just seems interested in winning titles. Whitmer walked off in the middle and Adam Page followed him.
JAY BRISCOE PROMO- good hype for his ROH World Title defense against Michael Bennett next week. Jay wants his fake title belt that Maria and Bennett have back.
KINGDOM SEGMENT- Bennett is happy and cuts a good promo. Adam Cole pouted in the corner. Then he got pissed and said that he was the "king" of the Kingdom. Maria said something to Cole, and he seemed to get less angry. He told Bennett to give Jay Briscoe the beating of his life, and to do it for the Kingdom.
DECADE SEGMENT- they all come out. Jimmy Jacobs says they are giving their young boys an opportunity tonight by giving them a match against each other, so they can show their heart. It will also be a No DQ's match. Since when does Jimmy have booking power?
NO DISQUALIFICATIONS MATCH: Adam Page vs. Tadarius Thomas- no rating. FANTASTIC segment.
On commentary, Caprice Coleman said that this was just The Decade making the two young boys kill each other for their own perverse entertainment, but I'm not sure I agree with him- and for me to disagree with a babyface announcer making a perfectly reasonable point speaks to just how tremendous Jimmy Jacobs' performance has been in this angle.
So as the match went on, it was quite clear that I was wrong. The Decade wanted to see, as the announcers put it "a human cockfight," and they got one, laughing all the while, until Tadarius Thomas turned babyface, hit Jacobs with a chair, then walked out of the match.
HYPE FOR NEXT WEEK'S "CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK" SHOW- very good.
CEDRIC ALEXANDER vs. ADAM COLE- 7.75/10
Cole worked over Cedric's leg and Cedric sold it well. Props to the announcers for helping you believe that both guys had a chance of winning (via explaining various on-going storylines) at points when it looked like the end was all but certain.
Another great show from ROH.
STUPID ANNOUNCER QUOTES:
1. Kevin Kelly refers to Cedric Alexander's match with Adam Cole tonight as "the biggest match of his career. Didn't he have a world title match on TV a few weeks ago?
