BRM Reviews the 3/22/2014 ROH
Posted: Mar 28th, '14, 08:15
We have a new opening graphic, prominently featuring, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson, and one Mr. CM Punk.
THE DECADE vs. ADRENALINE RUSH & ANDREW EVERETT- 5.75/10
Good opener.
MICHAEL ELGIN PROMO- he appears to be growing his hair out. He plugs his match with AJ Styles next week by saying that if he can't beat AJ, he doesn't deserve to be ROH World Champion.
THE ROMANTIC TOUCH vs. R.D. EVANS (w/Veda Scott & "Ramon")- 2/10
An eh match with a doper comedy finish implying that the Romantic Touch and Veda Scott had sex under the ring and finished in about six seconds.
After the match, R.D. cuts a promo saying that he will be "the only real man left standing." Silas Young came out and got angry that R.D. used his nickname.
THE FISH TANK, WITH SPECIAL GUEST: CHEESEBURGER- good. They call him "hamburger' and beat him up. Apparently reDRagon will be facing Brutal Burgers (Cheeseburger & "Brutal" Bob Evans) next week.
ADAM PAGE vs. CEDRIC ALEXANDER-5.5/10
Roderick Strong was on commentary for this match. At one point after a big move on the outside he advised Page to go for the count-out win, but Page wanted to get a pinfall so he helped Cedric back into the ring. This led to Cedric hitting the Lumbar Check (the backbreaker he "stole" from Roddy) to get the win.
After the match Roddy tried to lecture Cedric but Cedric wouldn't listen. he then went to lecture Page and seemed to listen to him.
THE BRISCOES vs. ADAM COLE & MICHAEL BENNETT (w/Maria Kanellis)-7.5/10
Kevin Kelly seems to be WAY too interested in whether Maria was the one who organized the alliance between Cole and Bennett. Does it really matter which one them came up with the idea? The result is the same no matter what.
Jay pins Cole to build him up more for Supercard of Honor VIII. Mark and Bennett did a spot where they went through a table, which I assume will be used to build up their No DQ's match at Supercard of Honor VIII.
A good show from ROH. They are build AJ's matches up as being MAJOR deals (AJ VS. ELGIN NEXT WEEK!) and also building well to Supercard of Honor VIII (or at least the main event anyway, but that's what will sell the show).
