Kirbs rambles about the 3/10/14 Raw

I have work today, so let's get started.

Los Matadores vs. Curtis Axel & Ryback -- B-

Well, these guys are, uh, interesting... I feel like I should know who the guys are under the masks. Someone please tell me... With the size of Ryback, I think Los Matadores should do a spot teasing Ryback with a muleta (the cape used for taunting the bull)... Fun tangential fact: They're being braggarts by calling themselves Matadores instead of Toreros. A torero is a bullfighter, the title Matador is reserved for only the expert bullfighters. The more you know™... Looks like your standard "big guys vs little guys" match... The crowd seems disinterested... Okay finish. Decent match, a nice show opener. I really wanted to see thosed guys taunt Ryback with the muleta

Divas Title match: AJ Lee (c) vs Natalya -- A-

So we get her talking for a bit... That promo sounded incredibly dull. I guess the situation had something to do with it?... AJ gets a good amount of heat. Pretty rare for a diva... Actually pretty good so far... Oooohh! An abdominal stretch! You don't see those much anymore. I'm a sucker for the old-fashioned submissions... I still say it's completely the face's fault if he or she gets distracted by someone merely standing at ringside... A bit rare to see Natalya actually in trouble... Why was the ref yelling at Tamina? She didn't do anything and was on the opposite side of the ring as AJ and Nattie. :-\ ... Yes! A sleeper hold being used as a submission and not a rest hold... Dat false finish tho!... She has that scorpion deathlock awfully weak... Dem heel tactics... Great match. Remind me again why divas aren't allowed to have significant time for a match?... Wow, gotta feel for Nattie. She looks genuinely heartbroken from her loss...

We get a Santino segment. I'm not watching this... We next get a recap of Bryan's Raw segment. No need to watch, already seen the full thing...

US Title match: Dean Ambrose (w/The Shield) (c) vs. Mark Henry -- B+

For something completely unrelated: have to say, it's pretty disappointing to get commercials on a paid service, but whatever, at lest it's relevant to the product... Must be lent. Fast food everywhere is hawking their fish burgers... Obviously Dean is going to look weak in physical stuff... Oooh, Indian Deathlock by Ambrose. Love them vintage holds... Weak powerslam by Henry, but it sells well... Come on, Rollins DIDN'T actually do anything there... Dem heel tactics by the Shield...

Overall a nice show. Main Event is basically what Superstars was except with matches that actually matter and are watchable, I suppose.

The matches actually mattering is a very new idea. They just started doing it when they started doing the show live on the Network.
