BRM Reviews KCs Timeline: History of WWE 2001 w/Ivory (sh*t)

I have often criticized Kayfabe Commentaries products for having no “quality control” and for not delivering on what they promise. This DVD is an excellent example of that. The run-time was almost two hours and fifteen minutes long, and the first hour and a half of that dealt with everything up to Wrestlemania X-Seven. The last nine months of the year were bunched up into the remaining forty-five minutes, and the events talked about on the slides were usually not talked about in any real detail, but rather were used as an excuse to talk about someone on the slide. Unless of course it involved the women’s division, in which case Ivory would go on a short tirade about having to put over “bikini-girls” in her later years in the company (you know... not the year she is being paid to talk about right now).

Ivory’s memory seemed to be a little shoddy as well, as she said that Lita only had one move and she described the critically acclaimed main event of Wrestlemania XIX between Brock Lesnar and Kurt Angle as “a clusterf*ck.”

If you are looking to learn something about the behind-the-scenes goings-on in the WWF in 2001, then this is not the DVD for you. Hell, if you want to learn about the important kayfabe goings-on in the WWF in 2001, this is not the DVD for you, and here is why; I have prepared a large list below of subjects that were either barely mentioned or not mentioned at all, but I think that the most damning criticism I can offer this DVD is that on a DVD about the WWF in 2001, the word “invasion” is not spoken even once.

The following events were only mentioned on slides but were never discussed by Ivory or Sean Oliver:

The major injuries to Triple H and Chris Benoit
Kane setting the record for eliminations in a single Royal Rumble
Booker T making his WWE debut by attacking Stone Cold at King of the Ring
The Rock winning the WCW World Heavyweight Title
The ECW turn during the Invasion
The blow-off of the Invasion
The Taker vs. Triple H match at Wrestlemania
Rob Van Dam
The WWF Title
The WCW World Heavyweight Title

The following things were not mentioned either on the slides or by Ivory and Oliver:
Unifying the WWE and WCW Titles
The Two-Man Power Trip winning all of the titles at Backlash
Any title other than the Women’s Title, WWE Title or WCW World Heavyweight Title
Both TLC 2 and TLC 3
Christian turning on Edge
Kane turning on Undertaker
Austin turning on the WWF
Kurt Angle joining the Alliance and then turning back at Survivor Series
Lance Storm’s run-in in Calgary, firing the first shot in the Invasion angle
The entire InVasion PPV as a whole
Paul E’s shoot promo on Vince on Smackdown before Survivor Series
The angle that teased a Hardy Boyz break-up
The Jericho-Benoit Ladder Match from Royal Rumble
Angle vs. Benoit from Wrestle-Mania X-7
King of the Ring
The Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon Street Fight
The disastrous Booker T vs. Buff Bagwell match that killed the experiment of letting WCW exist as its own entity.
