So you wouldn't consider Bret Hart or Ric Flair to be among the all time greats? Their World Title reigns were almost all limited to two promotions (between the two of them, Flair won a World Title in Japan once, other than that all of their reigns are JCP/WCW or WWF).

not forgetting he's also counting out greats like, Stone Cold, The Rock, Bruno Sammartino & more.... their titles reigns were also limited to one or two promotions. Deny these guys
I think amount of days DOES beat amount of reigns. Let's make an example here, If you've spent 256 days as champion you're better than a guy who's won it 6 times, but only held it for a total of 200 days. A long reign out does amount of reigns without a doubt. How can you dispute that?
You can argue that he's won it in many different places, BUT so have the KoW, and long reigns to boot. I'd argue they'd surpass the Dudleys in lengths of reigns.

I'd like to point out that Team 3D/Dudleys have NEVER been named Tag Team Of The Year while the Kings of Wrestling have.

You have to count defenses in there, too. Joe had a longer title reign than both Dragon and Nigel, but they both defended the belt more than he did.

Huh? Dudleys/Team 3D have won PWI tag team of the year twice... KOW hasn't... what award did KOW win that 3D hasn't?

The WON Tag Team of the year award.

there's always exceptions; if you just count days as champion, then the Miz and JBL would be considered greater champs than both Chris Beniot and Eddie Guerrero, neither of which is true.
It's all subjective; but no one will ever beat the Dudleys' number of reigns just like no one will hold the title for more days than Flair or Bruno did....

they kinda were. I know you won't like Miz being a better champion than them, but at least JBL was.

that's why I say it's all subjective; Miz and JBL almost NEVER won clean and had maybe one or two good matches as champ (including their title wins). Beniot beat Kane twice AND HBK & HHH twice and the match he lost the title to Orton was awesome also); Eddy beat Brock and Angle (and both were GREAT matches). I always rate wrestlers on the quality of their matches; their length as champ and the number of reigns is all reliant on how they're booked. How they perform in the ring is up to them (even if they're told to be the cowardly heel or the invincible babyface, it all relies on how well they get that over.)

Where i'm looking, the Dudleys haven't been named Tag Team of the Year once. I see the Steiners, Midnight Express, the Kings of Wrestling but NO Dudleys. Like Badnewz said, it doesnt matter if you've won lots of belts or really how long you're the champ because it's the quality of matches that matter.

And the Dudleys have had GREAT matches; just as good as the Road Warriors (if not better).
the Dudleys won PWI tag team of the year in 2009 & 2001 (
http://prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/PWI_ ... f_the_Year)
Kings of Wrestling won it this past year (2010), I guess but it's not on the list at the link above.....

So we gather at least this much from the deabte thus far.
Amount of reigns in one company doesn't particularly matter.
Winning it in more than one company combined with the length of the reign & amount of defenses is what makes a good champion. Common sense really.
Of course it can depend on factors like how the angle is booked, but there it is!
So based on that, who will beat the Dudley's record... Perhaps we should find some database, count how many days the dudleys have held tag gold & how many defenses they had, then throw it up for comparison... when it comes to that... there's time for tag teams to beat it....HOWEVER, you'll never find that information.

I think it just depends on how you rate wrestling in general.
But the initial question is "WILL ANYONE BREAK THE DUDLEYS' RECORD for title wins; my answer to that question is 'no.' Tag wrestling isn't appreciated in enough different places for such an event to occur. Case in point: There isn't a single tag team since the Dudley's who's competed in the top three promotions in the world (let alone the West)

the one with the dudleys winning 01 and 09 is PWI (the guys that put up the 500 list).
while the one KOW won and dudleys haven't is the Wrestling Observer Awards, far more credible than PWI.

^Why/How is one more credible than the other? Meltzer works for PWI, right?
I don't think I'll ever be able to accept there being a better tag team than the Dudleys during the 2000-2001 years. Imo, without them, the Hardy's & E&C would never have gotten over like they did....

Metlzer works for WON. As for the E&C and the Hardys not getting over as much as they did without the Dudleys? Preposterous. The APA could have filled that role just as well.

I disagree; the Dudley's were the best tag team in the world from 98 til they split them up during the draft. the APA couldn't work as good as the Dudleys; they are nowhere NEAR as good a tag team.

But if the APA had been feuding with the Hardys and E&C instead of the Dudleys, people wouldn't see them as being as great as they do now.

well, as credible as believing that Miz is no 1 and Richards is no 25. At least Wrestling Observer usually goes with names that don't raise so many eyebrows.
