I haven't been to a house show in a while and they were not at the last ones I went to.

Still, house shows don't mean jack to the casual viewer. I think there should have been a little promo or something saying that they took some time off to find themselves or whatever motivational self-talk crap they did to come up with this gimmick.

I'm not saying that your idea wouldn't have been a lot better (it would have), but I don't see an actual kayfabe logic hole.

They didn't disappear. They've been working house shows. They just weren't booked on TV, and that's all the kayfabe explanation you need.
Lesnar is more of a problem, but that's because of the 30 Days Rule.

I don't think he's bad in his normal role, but then again I am a lot more friendly to vanilla babyfaces than most other people are.
