BRM Reviews the 5/24/2017

ALEISTER BLACK vs. CURT HAWKINS- no rating, entertaining semi-squash.
So Curt Hawkins’ first appearance since being moved to Raw in the Superstar Shakeup comes on NXT? Yeah. That’s basically how I feel about, him.
Wait… what? Apparently these two had a match two weeks ago on Main Event. So Aleister Black already made his main-roster debut and no one mentioned it to us?
They let Hawkins get some token offense in, but most of this match was Black just kicking the sh*t out of Hawkins. It was quite satisfying to watch.

CIMPA-GARGANO STUFF- excellent.

EMBER MOON PROMO FROM BEFORE TAKEOVER- AWESOME!

ASUKA PROMO FROM AFTER TAKEOVER- good.

THE VELVETEEN DREAM WILL DEBUT NEXT- thanks for the warning. I think this is a good time for a piss break.

RODDY PROMO FROM AFTER TAKEOVER- fine

THE VELVETEEN DREAM vs. A JOBBER- squash

PETE DUNNE PROMO- good

BOBBY RUDE PROMO- good. He says he’ll be taking some time off to relax… and then we got a graphic telling us he’d be here next to have a celebration. So which is it?

DREW MCINTYRE vs. WESLEY BLAKE- 6.5/10

This was exactly what you’d expect from the “airs after Takeover but the matches were taped right before it” episode of NXT.

Right. But this one wasn't a dark match.

Main event I'd hardly barely consider main roster. Call it a technicality, but still.
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

I'm aware that it's all but a technicality... but it still is technically his main roster debut, and it happened two weeks ago and they haven't mentioned it anywhere until now.

That's because Main Event doesn't really mean nothing and doesn't matter to nobody. I know-crappy way to look at it... but it's pretty much the size of it.

Right. Which is why I'm so baffled that they did this on Main Event instead of just bringing Hawkins down to NXT to start it off (they'd even have a ready-made reason for it, too: Kurt could basically say that he wants to send Hawkins down to NXT because he's loosing so much and Hawkins could agree because he'd see it as an opportunity to make more "stars.")
