Booking the Authority from Survivor Series 2013 until WM XXX

Post by Big Red Machine » Oct 29th, '13, 09:06

Survivor Series 2013

WWE TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Real Americans(c) (w/Zeb Coulter) vs. The Usos-
The Real Americans win the belts from the Rhodes Brothers on Raw due to interference by the Shield.
Real Americans wins via cheating.

RYBACK vs. MARK HENRY-
Ryback goes over clean

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Dean Ambrose(c) (w/the Shield) vs. Big E. Langston-
Big E. wins. Shield tries to interfere, but they get taken out by the Rhodes Brothers & Dragon.

SURVIVOR SERIES 10 WOMAN ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MATCH:
Total Divas (Bellas, Funkadactyls, & Nattie) vs. Team AJ (AJ, Tamina, Layla, Summer Rae, Alicia Fox)

Nattie is the sole Survivor, making AJ tap to win the match.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: John Cena(c) vs. Alberto Del Rio vs. Damien Sandow-
Sandow becomes obsessed with finding Cena's weakness. Del Rio gets his rematch on Raw but Sandow interferes, claiming that no one will benefit from his work but him. This results in a triple threat match for Survivor Series.
Both heels go after Cena's arm and fight over who gets to put on submissions. Cena pins Del Rio clean.

WWE TITLE MATCH: Randy Orton(c) vs. CM Punk
-
Punk campaigns for a title shot, and the McMahons, who don't like Punk, grudgingly give in because he draws a lot of buys and that is good for business, and because Punk got rid of Heyman, who they also don't like.
Orton wins when the Wyatt's interfere on Orton's behalf, screwing Punk out of the title.

SURVIVOR SERIES 10 MAN ELIMINATION TAG TEAM MAIN EVENT:
Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, The Miz, & Big Show
vs.
Kane, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Seth Rollins, & Roman Reigns (w/Bray Wyatt, Dean Ambrose, Triple H, & Stephanie McMahon)-
- if the babyfaces win, Show gets his job back, and Dragon and the Rhodes Brothers will all get title shots.
- if the heels win, Big Show (who it is made clear the heels are very, very afraid of) must drop his lawsuit must retire from wrestling forever, and can never appear in a WWE ring again, under threat of a VERY steep financial penalty (which, when combined with the poverty angle would basically make him an indentured servant of the McMahons or something- some way to ensure that Show never bothers the heels again if his team loses)

This match comes about as a result of a few things. Dragon campaigns for another title shot because he was screwed, getting lots of support from the other babyfaces and from the fans, but the Authority won't give him one. The Shield screws the Rhodes Brothers out of the titles in a match against the Real Americans, but Hunter & Steph also refuse to give them their rematch. Super-Lawyer David Otunga tries to beat Big Show's lawsuit, and we wind up with this match as a compromise (because this is wrestling, and everything must be decided in the ring)

The first one out is Kane, who is eliminated surprisingly quickly via small package from Dragon. Ambrose, Wyatt, Orton, and Hunter all get involved. At the end, Show and Dragon are down 4-2, but manage to beat the odds and win, thanks, in part, to interference by CM Punk and Big E. Langston.

More to come.

Re: Booking the Authority from Survivor Series 2013 until WM

Post by Big Red Machine » Oct 29th, '13, 14:28

Buildup to TLC: Punk cuts a promo saying that he helped the babyfaces because he realized that the Wyatt’s are working with the Authority, and because he has always been a very anti-authority guy, and he likes standing up for justice, etc. etc.

The Authority tell us that the title shots that Dragon, Show, and the Rhodes Brothers won at Survivor Series are only valid until the next PPV. Dragon wants the title shot he earned at Survivor Series as soon as possible. The McMahons give him the title shot on Smackdown. Coincidentally, they have arranged for many of the babyfaces (especially Show & Punk) to be away on an overseas promotional tour. On Smackdown, they amend the contract of the match and make it a Last Chance match, so if Dragon loses, he can’t get another title shot until Orton loses the belt. Many heels interfere and help Orton retain the belt. The Rhodes Brothers try to help Dragon, but get beaten to a bloody pulp.

On the second Raw Heyman returns saying that he has put everything with Punk behind him and now wants to focus on helping his Heyman Guys become even more successful… but just in case, he got a restraining order against Punk.
The McMahons offer to let Show choose any of the feature matches at TLC for his title shot because they are so confident Orton will beat him. Show chooses a Tables Match because Orton can’t possibly lift him up and put him through a table.
On Raw and SD we get some segments with Dragon and Punk trying to play to McMahons cocky natures. We also get a segment where Dragon has another confrontation with HBK and vows to be better than HBK ever was. HBK says that’s impossible, seeing as how Randy Orton will be champion for a very long time and Dragon won’t get another title shot ever again. Dragon and Punk manage to goad the McMahons into a match where if they win, Dragon’s title eligibility will be restored and Punk will earn a future world title shot… but if they lose, Punk, too will be banned from all future title shots and Dragon will have to shave his beard and cut his hair. The McMahons, being crafty heels, book this as a TLC match, and choose the Wyatt Family to be Dragon and Punk’s opponents: All three of them.

The buildup to the World Heavyweight Title match has Sandow become obsessed with find a weakpoint in Cena. He takes out Cena’s knee and challenges Cena to a ladder match for the World Title.

The buildup to the tag title match revolves around the bloody beating that the Authority gave the Rhodes Brothers, and whether they will be 100% by the time TLC rolls around.

Ryback manages to screw Big E. out of the title in Ambrose’s rematch, so Ambrose regains the title. Heyman, on Ryback’s behalf, challenges Big E. to a chairs match at TLC.

Also on the card are the Usos vs. Rollins & Reigns, Divas Title shot for Nattie, and title defenses for McGillicutty (against someone), and Ambrose (against Miz)

TLC:
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Michael McGillicutty(c) (w/Paul Heyman) vs. ?
McGillicutty wins, obviously.

WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: AJ Lee(c) (w/Tamina) vs. Natalya-
AJ wins

THE USOS vs. SETH ROLLINS & ROMAN RIEGNS (w/Dean Ambrose)-
Ambrose tries to interfere, but Miz comes out to stop him and they brawl. Soon after that, one of the Usos gets a roll-up win. Both teams keep fighting after the match, and they brawl away through the crowd, while Miz and Ambrose wind up in the ring, transitioning into…

WWE UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH: Dean Ambrose(c) vs. The Miz-
Ambrose wins via cheating of some sort

We get a backstage interview with Renee Young asking the Rhodes Brothers if they think they are at 100%. While they are answering, the Wyatt Family jumps them and beats them down.

STEEL CHAIRS MATCH: Big E. Langston vs. Ryback (w/Paul Heyman)-
Ryback wins via help from distractions by Heyman

WWE TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: The Real Americans(c) (w/Zeb Coulter) vs. The Rhodes Brothers-
Cody and Goldust put up a good fight, but the heels win, taking advantage of the babyface’s previous injuries.

HANDICAP TLC MATCH: CM Punk & Daniel Bryan vs. The Wyatt Family
- If Punk & Dragon win, Punk gets a future world title shot, and Dragon is once again eligible for world title shots.
- If the Wyatts win, Dragon must shave his beard and Punk is no longer eligible for World Title shots until Orton loses his belt.

The Wyatts use both their size and numbers advantage great effect. Dragon and Punk use the weapons as equalizers. At the end, everyone is down. Harper and Rowan are down on the outside and Dragon and Punk are down in the ring, in the corners. Bray Wyatt, also down in the ring, slowly makes it to his feet. He staggers to the ladder and begins to slowly climb. Dragon and Punk start crawling towards the ladder, but the things go from bad to worse for them when Kane runs out to block their path. They watch, unable to do anything, as Wyatt slowly, exhaustedly, scales to the top of the ladder, laughing madly all the way.
Then Kane turns around shoves the ladder over!

Bray Wyatt gets sent flying to the outside. Harper and Rowan try to fight Kane off, but he is fresh, and easily takes them down. Meanwhile Punk holds the ladder steady as Dragon climbs it and retrieves the contracts hanging from the ceiling.

TABLES MATCH FOR THE WWE TITLE: Randy Orton(c) vs. The Big Show-
Orton isn’t strong enough to pick show up… but his heel buddies sure are. This match turns into a giant schmoz, with Shield trying to help Orton put Show through a table, and Miz, Big E. and Kane all fighting to prevent the interference. The tide turns in favor of the babyfaces when a very banged up (and heavily taped up) Dragon and Punk come out to help, but the tide turns back in the heels’ favor when the Heyman Guys come out and help the heels. The Shield and Ryback all help Orton list Big Show up and powerbomb him through a table to win the match.

LADDER MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: John Cena(c) vs. Damien Sandow-
Cena wins clean (yeah, I know it sucks, but this needs to be clean and it needs to be the main event because everything else on this show has been one giant screwjob).

At this point the McMahons abuses of power get bigger and bigger. They almost stop pretending that the Wyatt Family isn’t working with them. They say that losing Kane was disappointing, but not a big deal because they have replaced him with some even more impressive; their own answer to the Big Show or Kane, or anyone… the Knockout Machine, Wade Barrett.
Of course, Kane still must be punished for his treachery, so they book Kane in a punishment handicap match against the Shield. Before the match Kane cuts a promo explaining that he only joined up with the Authority to see if they were working with the Wyatts, and once he realized that they were, he knew he could use their protection as an opportunity to get close to the Wyatts and strike when the time was right.
During Kane’s handicap match against the Shield, the Wyatts interfere, causing a DQ, but all six men beat Kane down, injuring him.
The McMahons also announce that they are throwing a big party for Orton for retaining the WWE Title. The babyfaces (led by Show, Punk, & Dragon) later cut a backstage promo vowing to crash it. Show says that he knows that Hunter is the one pulling all of the strings, so he is going to knockout the puppetmaster tonight.
The McMahons throw their party for Orton, and it turns into a giant schmoz, with Punk, Dragon, Show, Goldust, Cody, and Miz all crashing it. They brawl, but are outnumbered by the heels, who include the Shield, the Wyatt Family, Barrett, Orton, and, of course, Hunter himself, as well as a bunch of security guys.
Show makes a bee-line straight for Hunter. Security tries to cut him off, but they just mostly manage to get themselves knocked out. When Show has almost reached Hunter, the Heyman Guys come out with some weapons) and make the save.
The other babyfaces are beaten down an forced to watch as Show eats everyone’s finishers, followed up with the dreaded Triple Powerbomb from the Shield through an announce table… but even that isn’t enough. Orton punts Show in the head, and beating is then finished off by a savage Sledgehammer shot to the back of the skull. Show is bleeding from the mouth and is stretchered out.

On Smackdown, the McMahons come out and say they made an example of Big Show on Raw, but they aren’t done doling out punishment yet… although tonight they will do so in a less violent manner, because apparently many wrestlers have gone on strike today (and on Main Event and Superstars, too) to protest the vicious attack on Big Show. The Authority reiterate that they were acting in self defense, though, so you really can’t fault them.
To make up for so many advertised stars not being on the show tonight, they announce that there will be a huge 24 man tag team match as the main event, and Triple H himself will be wrestling.
Before the match, the McMahons once again come out and say that it is now time to dole out some punishments. They say that although they are contractually obligated to give Punk a WWE Title match at some point in the future, they never said when. It might take years before Punk gets that shot. The same goes for Dragon. He is now eligible to get a WWE Title match… but that doesn’t mean that they are going to give him one. They say that they won’t even book him in the Royal Rumble.

This very much upsets the locker room. So much so that most of the remaining wrestlers walk out fo the main event.

On Raw the Authority calls everyone out to the stage for a “town hall” meeting. Various wrestlers speak out against what happened to Big Show, but say that they do understand that it was self defense.
They also say that they are very unhappy about the McMahons screwing around in the stips of the Dragon & Punk vs. Wyatts match from TLC. They say that they need to be able to trust contracts with WWE management, and this sort of thing damages that trust. They also say that they are extremely upset that the Authority won’t even give Dragon the chance to qualify for the Royal Rumble. NXT star Sami Zayn gives a speech:
The Royal Rumble is everyone’s dream match. The great equalizer. It is WWE’s version of the principle of “any given Sunday.” You can be a total jabroni, but if you get into the Royal Rumble, and things fall into place for you; if the stars are aligned; if you have that perfect night… then you are going to headline WRESTLEMANIA.
That is the dream that keeps every superstar going through every single losing streak. Like John Cena in the beginning of 2013… things might be going horribly for you, but if you get the chance to be in the Royal Rumble, you get the chance to win the Royal Rumble and turn everything around.
No one should have that dream taken away from them. EVERYONE deserves to at least be given a chance to qualify for the Royal Rumble.

The McMahons agree to give in on this point. They also make a big announcement. They have hired a new manager of talent relations. Not an executive, but someone whose job it will be to deal with the superstars’ concerns about management. They know that this is a tricky job, and one that only someone who knows both the superstars side of things and the corporate side of things can possibly understand, so they have hired the best. WWE Hall of Famer… and former WWE Commissioner… SHAWN MICHAELS!
Also on this show, we get a segment with Dragon cutting a promo about how he has been overcoming odds his whole life. HBK comes out and gets into an argument with him. HBK points to Kane’s turn at TLC as evidence that Dragon has not been overcoming odds because it is not overcoming odds if you need help to do it. Dragon says he can beat any odds HBK can throw at him. HBK says that he is going to make Dragon put his money where his mouth is.

During the build-up to Royal Rumble it is revealed that Heyman sent his guys out to help Orton at TLC in exchange for Ryback being given a World Heavyweight Title shot against Cena at Royal Rumble. The build up to this match is Ryback saying that he couldn’t beat Cena before, but now that he has the greatest mind in wrestling history, Paul Heyman, on his side, he will beat Cena.
In his promos, Heyman starts building Ryback up one of his greatest creations (he always says “one of” never just “greatest”). He says Ryback is better than Tommy Dreamer or Sandman or Sabu. Certainly better than Heidenreich. He’s even better than Steve Austin and RVD… and he is definitely better than CM Punk.

On the third Raw, HBK advises Hunter to make Dragon eat his words from last week, and make Dragon really have to “overcome the odds” in his Royal Rumble qualifying match. Triple H agrees and books Dragon in a five-on-one handicap match against The Shield, Ryback, and McGillicutty.
During the match Dragon takes advantage of miscommunications between the Shield and the Heyman guys, and while they are arguing, he gets a roll-up win on Rollins.

Also on this show, RVD returns from his hiatus. He says he doesn’t like the things that Heyman has been saying about him. He says that Heyman didn’t create RVD; he just gave him a platform to perform on. RVD created RVD, and RVD is talented enough that he would have been discovered by someone else if Heyman hadn’t come along.

The next week on Raw the McMahons get into an argument with Heyman, blaming the Heyman Guys for allowing Dragon to win his Royal Rumble qualifier. They decide to punish him by making McGilicutty defend the IC Title against RVD at Royal Rumble.

Also on this show, Dragon calls HBK out again. He is angry that his trainer keeps trying to screw him over, but he says he overcome the odds and in doing so, he will be a bigger star than HBK was. HBK comes out and says that if Dragon wants to be better than him, he needs to at least match his accomplishments first… and if Dragon likes overcoming the odds so much, why doesn’t he do just that and try to match one of HBK’s most famous accomplishments: winning the Royal Rumble from the #1 entry!

The next week, the Authority decide to pile more odds on against Dragon. Hunter says that if Dragon wants to be better than HBK, he needs to one up HBK… so not only will Dragon be the first man to enter the Royal Rumble, but he will wrestle a match earlier that night as well, when he teams with Kane and Punk to take on the Wyatt Family.

In another attempt to placate the unhappy locker room, Hunter gives Big E. a rematch against Ambrose for the US Title and gives Miz a WWE Title match against Orton.

After Zayn’s speech, we get some video packages hyping him up on all of the WWE shows, and the Authority even give him a spot in the Royal Rumble as a reward for “speaking his mind and not being afraid to voice his opinion” so that they look like babyfaces to everyone and to quell some unhappiness in the locker room. The hype for Zayn all revolves around how much potential he has and saying that he will be a future star, etc. etc. Heyman takes note of this and says that he doesn’t see anything in Sami Zayn. He predicts that Sami won’t eliminate anyone and doubts that he will even last five minutes in the Royal Rumble. On the go-home show, Zayn cuts a promo vowing to prove Paul Heyman wrong.
Also on the go-home show, we get a segment with Cena calling Dragon out and putting him over strongly on the mic for going through everything the Authority has put him through. He says that he is rooting for Dragon in the Royal Rumble, and would love to have a Summer Slam rematch at Wrestlemania.

ROYAL RUMBLE:
WWE US TITLE MATCH: Dean Ambrose(c) (w/the Shield) vs. Big E. Langston (w/Cody Rhodes & Goldust)-
Cody & Goldust hold off the Shield and Big E. pins Ambrose clean to win back the US Title.

THE WYATT FAMILY vs. KANE, CM PUNK & DANIEL BRYAN-
The Wyatts win, pinning Dragon, after Wade Barrett interferes, knocking Dragon out with the Bull-hammer Elbow.

We get a backstage segment of Dragon being treated in the trainer’s room. He cuts a promo saying that he won’t let any injuries he sustained in his earlier match stop him from proving HBK wrong, overcoming the odds, and winning the Royal Rumble. Cena stops by and wishes him good luck.

WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Michael McGillicutty(c) (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Rob Van Dam-
McGillicutty wins after interference from Heyman

WWE TITLE MATCH: Randy Orton(c) (w/Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Wade Barrett, & The Shield) vs. The Miz-
Orton wins.

WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH: John Cena(c) vs. Ryback (w/Paul Heyman)-
Ryback wins the title (probably after interference from Heyman and McGillicutty)

ROYAL RUMBLE MATCH:
Daniel Bryan is entrant #1. #2 is Seth Rollins. #3 is Roman Reigns. #4 is Dean Ambrose… but still Dragon hangs in there. He overcomes all of the challenges and lasts until the end (Wade Barrett is #30).
The final six wind up being Dragon, Barrett, The Shield, and Sami Zayn (who has had a great sowing entering at #5 and staying in for a long time, even eliminating some people). The heels work together to completely dismantle both babyfaces, but Dragon manages to get the upper hand after knocking them all out with a succession of flying knees. The Authority won’t stand for it and they send in everyone: The Wyatt Family, the Heyman Guys (one of whom take the opportunity to eliminate Sami Zayn), some jobbers like 3MB, maybe an appearance by Patterson & Brisco, and even Orton and Hunter themselves… but a giant crowd of babyfaces comes out to make the save: Kane, Punk, Miz, Big E. Cody, Goldust, RVD, and even John Cena.
The schmoz clears out, with people brawling backstage and through the crowd, and the only ones left in the ring are Dragon, Barrett, and the Shield. Dragon nails Reigns with big running dropkick in one corner, then takes Barrett down with the big kick to the temple. Rollins charges at him, but Dragon ducks and pulls the top rope down, and Rollins tumbles over the rope to the outside. Dragon turns around just in time to see Ambrose charging at him. He grabs Ambrose and tosses him over the top rope as well. Seeing Rollins about to get up, Dragon charges across the ring, off the ropes, then takes out both eliminated Shield members with a suicide dive through the ropes!
Roman Reigns has recovered and is about to step over the ropes to go after Dragon, but Dragon slips back into the ring and charges at the opposite ropes. Reigns turns around, and when he does, he eats a face full of flying knee, knocking him backwards over the ropes and onto the floor.
BARRETT GRABS DRAGON FROM BEHIND! BULL-HAMMER ELB-DRAGON DUCKS IT! He charges off the ropes and KO’s Barrett with the flying knee to the face!
Dragon picks Barrett up and tries to dump him over the top rope, but Orton and Hunter get into the ring. Orton grabs Dragon from behind (causing Barrett to topple over onto the apron), and goes for the RKO, but Dragon shoves him away sending him right into Triple H. The two heels bonk heads, and Dragon hits Hunter with the running knee. Then he charges right back off the ropes and hits Orton, too. Barrett is pulling himself up on the apron. Dragon charges off the ropes once again and comes back, nailing Wade in the face with the knee and sending him to the floor!
Daniel Bryan goes all the way from #1 and wins the Royal Rumble… and does so standing over the limp bodies of Triple H and Randy Orton, to boot.

Re: Booking the Authority from Survivor Series 2013 until WM

Post by Big Red Machine » Oct 29th, '13, 18:11

Might as well finish this off now.

On the first Raw after Royal Rumble Cena wants his rematch. The Authority consents, but during the match, they send out both the Wyatt Family and the Shield to beat Cena down as punishment for helping Dragon during the schmoz in the Royal Rumble and being too chummy with him.
Also on that show, Dragon offers to defend his Wrestlemania Title shot against Sami Zayn because Sami was unfairly eliminated from the Royal Rumble by McGillicutty. Dragon wins the match cleanly, but it is a strong showing for Sami.

Heyman starts making comments about Punk. Hunter offers Punk a deal; he will give Punk a shot at Ryback’s World Heavyweight Title at Elimination Chamber in exchange for Punk giving up the shot at Orton’s WWE Title that he earned at TLC. Punk, wanting to deal with Heyman, agrees.

Sami Zayn also engages in a war of words with Heyman, and earns an IC Title match at Elimination Chamber. Heyman says this match will prove that he is right and that Sami Zayn doesn’t have the potential to be a star. On the go-home show, RVD cuts a promo putting Sami Zayn over as a future star.

On the second Raw, the Authority says that if Dragon is going to put his Wrestlemania title shot up for grabs like it is a winnable title, they will make him defend it, too. Dragon says he doesn’t mind. It is just one more chance to beat the odds and prove to them that he is an A+ player.

On the third Raw we get a segment with Hunter apologizing to Cena for the attack on him two weeks ago. He tells Cena that he didn’t want to have to do that, but he needed to teach Cena a lesson about siding against the Authority. He says that he still likes Cena and thinks there is a place for him at the top of the mountain in the WWE. He offers Cena another shot at the World Heavyweight Title if he joins the Authority. Cena tells Hunter to shove it.

The Authority makes sure that all of the babyfaces aside from Cena and Dragon all have matches at Elimination Chamber, then books Shield vs. Cena & Dragon in a tag team elimination chamber match. He tells them they will have to find a third partner on their own. To stir up the pot, he decrees than in this match, if their team loses, Dragon’s Wresltemania title shot will go to Cena instead.

On the go-home show, the Authority try to sow distrust between Dragon and Cena.

ELIMINATION CHAMBER-
Zayn beat McGillicutty to win the IC Title. After the match, McGillicutty and Ryback beat Sami down. RVD and CM Punk come out to make the save.
Punk beats Ryback to win the world title. McGillicutty tries to interfere, but RVD fights him off.
Dragon & Cena’s mystery partner is Big Show. The two men who start the match are Dragon and Rollins. The first man in is Ambrose. Then Reigns, and Dragon takes a major beating. Then Cena is supposed to enter… but his door is stuck! Realizing that the system is rigged, Show punches through the glass door of the pod and enter the match. He also goes over and frees Cena by punching through that pod as well. The babyfaces win the match, eliminating all three heels.

Heading into Mania, the Authority makes Dragon defend his Wresltemania title shot every night. On the go-home show they make him defend it in three straight matches… but then the Authority plays their trump card: They announce that HBK will be the special guest referee at Mania.

We also build to Ryback & McGilicutty vs. RVD & Sami Zayn, and, to take the title from Punk at Mania, Heyman goes back to the only thing that has worked… he brings in BROCK LESNAR! Punk threatens to no-show Mania unless it is a Hell in a Cell match, to prevent interference. The Authority quickly agrees that this would be best for business.

We also build to Barrett vs. Big Show in a Knockouts Only match.

Also at Mania, we will get the Rhodes Brothers & Kane vs. The Wyatt Family, in a No DQ’s match (pretend I came up with a reason for this or something) and Cena, Miz, & Big E. vs. The Shield.

Wrestlemania:
Big Show def. Barrett (w/Triple H), and for good measure, he knocks Hunter out, too.
Wyatts def. Kane, Cody & Goldust
Shield def. Cena, Big E. & Miz
RVD & Zayn def. Ryback & McGillicutty
Punk def. Lesnar to retain the World Heavyweight Title in a Hell in a Cell match (the kayfabe reason for this not being the main event when it really should be is that the Authority want Orton to be the face of the WWE, and that means he gets the main event spot at Mania.

WWE TITLE MATCH WITH SHAWN MICHAELS AS SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: Randy Orton(c) vs. Daniel Bryan)-
As you would expect, HBK keeps screwing Dragon on counts, and pretending not to see Orton cheating. At one point, when Dragon Kos Orton with the running knee, HBK just turns his back to the match and pretends to be tying his shoe for about five minutes while the whole heel army beats Dragon down. The babyfaces all come down and make the save and we get a big schmoz. When the smoke clears, everyone is gone from ringside by Triple H. Orton recovers before Dragon and hits him with a punt to the head.
HBK counts the pin, a bit faster than normal just to make sure Dragon is down.
ONE!

DRAGON KICKS OUT!

HBK, Orton, and Hunter all stand there, stunned, as Dragon fires up. He starts his big comeback, and has Orton down on the mat. Dragon goes to the top rope for the diving headbutt, but Triple H distracts him and Orton hits a Super RKO.
HBK counts the pin at normal speed:
ONE!
TWO!
THRE-NO!
Orton punts Dragon again and goes for the pin. HBK once again counts at a normal speed.
ONE!
TWO!
KICKOUT!
Orton and Hunter both get pissed at Shawn and ask him why he isn’t fast-counting anymore. If he had fast-counted those last two pinfalls, Orton would have won already. HBK refuses to do it. He says that Dragon has fought through so much at this point that there is no way that anyone can possibly deny that he is an A+ player. He has at least earned a fair match.
Hunter gets pissed and takes a swing at HBK, but Shawn ducks and gives Hunter Sweet Chin Music. Orton gives HBK and RKO, and then Orton and Dragon wrestle some more before HBK recovers and Dragon makes Orton tap to win the WWE Title.
