That's definitely a comic cover. I'm just blanking on which one. I'm 90% sure it's DC, though.

When I was reading up on the current "Death of Chikara" story, I've seen many comparisons made to Watchmen. I've never been a comic reader though.

yeah, the whole last year was been mostly about Watchmen references, including a lot of stuff that has happened after chikara closed
