I like the minimalist stuff he did. It was really creepy and effective.

I, too, thought immediately of Muta, but Sting and (honestly) Jeff Hardy are right up there with him. I was watching Impact this week and I was thinking about how intricate Jeff's paint is these days; it's pretty cool, despite the tacky eyes on the eye-lids. Sting's early stuff (the bleached hair days) was prolly the best; I hated the Crow paint bc it was pretty constant and I liked the variation in Sting's paint before then. Plus, I hated that damn Crow movie, lol. However, Muta really stands out as the image of a painted wrestler; even over Sting, the Road Warriors, Jeff Hardy, Demolition, Damien, all of them.
