Is the WWE working with ROH?

I couldn't say for definite.....but theres evidence to suggest that the companies are working together. I can't see why WWE would all of a sudden start acknowledging other promotions. This storyline would be as perfect if they didn't bother.

Also, Punk came out to Cult Of Personality..sure it is not actually his ROH theme but its widely believed to be. Theres also been a few news reports about a possible deal. Are they all fake? Probably not. I believe that WWE said they would work with ROH (Who need help, Sinclair Broadcasting Group's stock nosedived by 9% when they bought out ROH. ) to keep ROH alive.

What do WWE get out of this?
-ROH will remain alive, and will continue to grow new stars which the WWE can sooner or later sign to a contract.
-Death of TNA?....surely Vince finds TNA's attempts to steal the WWE annoying? Look at what is put out on the their shows. Its pretty much what the fans say the WWE don't do. Look at "Wrestling matters." Its insulting. By partnering with ROH, TNA will lose even more viewers.
-The Wrestling industry as a whole will benefit-A partnership between WWE and ROH will bring in old viewers who switched off during the PG era, it will also attract viewers to both WWE and ROH.

WWE aren't working with ROH, and quite clearly don't give a shit about some cheap WWE knock-off over in Orlando with clowns running round and Eric Bischoff shitting himself at the sight of a bird.

The only reason we've seen and heard references to Ring Of Honor on WWE TV is because CM Punk is unscripted for one, and because this entire angle is about WWE bringing back every part of their audience and attempting to once again put a professional wrestling show with good content, both in the ring and out while keeping it suitable for everyone to watch, and so far they've been doing a damn good job of it in my opinion.

Just because you WANT it to happen, and you THINK it is happening, it doesn't mean that it IS happening, or WILL happen.

I don't know about that. Evolve might be them just booking the same character, but I think ROH and PWG might be.

For those who don't know, Steen had gone batsh*t insane in ROH and lost a mask vs. ROH career match against El Generico. Steve Corino (Steen's mentor), holds himself pesonaly responsible for ruining Steen's career and driving him insane, and thus has vowed to stop being an evil person, and to try to stop the younger generation from going wrong (AMAZING angle, by the way). Corino revealed that his "sponsor" is Jimmy Jacobs, another person who is recovering from an "addiction to evil." After a lot of debate, ROH let Jacobs continue to show up at Corino's side (they played it off as if the fans wanted to see Jimmy [they did], but that both ROH management and the ROH lockerroom didn't want him in the company), but said a firm "no" when Corino (against Jacobs' advice) wanted to bring Steen back, claiming that Steen, too had recovered.

Steen showed up, but ROH management made him leave. He the showed up later in the night, saving Corino from a beatdown, and Jim Cornette agreed to give him mic time. Steen (after building and playing things up perfectly) said "My name is Kevin Steen... and F*CK RING OF HONOR!" Steen then beat down both Jacobs and Corino before being chased off by security and the lockerroom, with Cornette shouting that Steen would never be seen in ROH again.

ROH management then made an announcement that Steen would no longer be mentioned by the company. They censored his name on the message board, and have changed his name to XXXXX in all of the title histories.

Steen then published the following letter on his website:

The next month, Steen hacked the ROH message board and made the following post, blasting ROH and praising PWG:

The next night, Steen won the PWG Title.

Three days later, at Evolve 9 (where one of the drawing points of the show was that Steen would be given an open mic), Steen showed up wearing a PWG shirt and called ROH "Ring of Horsesh*t." Steen then went on to say that, in retrospect, his problems really started when then-ROH Booker Gabe Sapolsky paired him with El Generico. And because Gabe built Evolve, Steen wants to destroy that, too.

I'm sure that ROH would have cleared it with PWG before using them in an angle, and I think that booking Steen the way they did in PWG plays into it.

I believe it's just Gabe and Excalibur letting Steen do his own thing, knowing it will make sense and play to the fans. I still really really doubt they're all "working together." Steen is trusted on the indy scene, and especially in PWG, they trust him to let him do his own thing (PWG barely has any angles going on at the moment anyway, if any; they just have matches). I don't watch Evolve, but I know Gabe and Steen have some kind of working relationship and Gabe is a smart guy, he knows that letting Steen play his character in Evolve will benefit Evolve as much as it will ROH.

definitely, letting Steen follow a character on your own show will make those other fans tune in to see what Steen does here too.

now, at first i thought it was gonna be Steen vs ROH, but with all this PWG talk, it could end up being PWG vs ROH at the long run. I think PWG has enough home talent to take on ROH.

ROH vs. PWG is a possibility, but a slim one in my opinion. It wouldn't work nearly as well as ROH vs. CZW did because they're on two different sides of the country.
