Despite competition in the form of the NBA Draft on ESPN, AEW Dynamite averaged 850,000 viewers last night on TNT, its highest number since September. WWE NXT was up slightly from last week but trailed Dynamite distantly, averaging 638,000 viewers. That was NXT's best number since Halloween Havoc.

The gap of 212,000 viewers was the biggest between the two shows since July 22.

Dynamite finished seventh in the cable TV charts which measure the 18-49 demo. The show averaged a 0.37 rating. That's tied for the second highest total in that category for Dynamite in 2020, just trailing the January 15 episode of the show. Dynamite was up 23.3 percent from last week in the 18-49 demo and the overall viewership was up 11.3 percent.

NXT failed to chart in the top 50, finishing 56th in the 18-49 demo with a 0.14 rating, down 12.5 percent from last week. The overall viewership for NXT was up 0.9 percent. The 18-49 number was the second lowest NXT has ever done on USA, only beating the May 20 episode that did a 0.13.

The combined audience of 1.488 million viewers for Dynamite and NXT was up 6.6 percent from last week and was the highest so far in November. The combined 18-49 number of 0.51 matched the three-hour average of Monday Night Raw this week.

Other individual demo numbers for NXT are not available due to it failing to chart in the top 50. Dynamite's strongest category was men 18-49. Dynamite did a 0.46 in that category, trailing only NBA Draft related shows on ESPN.

Year-over-year, Dynamite was down 4.8 percent in total viewers and 5.1 percent in 18-49. NXT was down 30.4 percent in total viewers and 53.3 percent in the demo. NXT was featuring wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown in the buildup to Survivor Series last year, which explains why those numbers are down so much.

Both shows being up despite the NBA Draft being on is good news for all.

NXT was barely up by 5K people and actually lower on the key demo.

1. USA doesn't care about the key demo. They have always valued wrestling for its total viewers.

2. The point is that on a week when both shows should have been down because of a big sporting event, both were up, and on a week where AEW was up a lot, NXT also managed to go up instead of down. It's an increase in overall viewership for wrestling.
